Chapter Text
Fragaria. The world where Hello Kitty and her friends have established kingdoms, and where their Fragaria Knights protect them. Divided into three continents, there is a Bouquet for each continent: Red, Blue, and Noir, each one protecting their respectful continent: Red Continent of Innocence, the Blue Continent of Love, and the Black Continent of Friendship. Each knight has signed a contract with their lords, a contract that says they must protect them from their greatest threat, the SEEDS, and their kingdom. And the knights do well in that.
“The knights ask nothing in return for their love”, after all.
The story starts off in the Blue Continent, in the Little Twin Stars Kingdom, where Louterstella is checking up on the stars for the night.
Louterstella: Hmm… Everything seems fine tonight. Hehe, that’s good.
It sure is. The stars that shimmer above the Little Twin Stars Kingdom are shining brightly tonight, which is usually a sign of a good future ahead. It’s usually like this, apart from occasional things like the Portent of Change, something Louter absolutely dreaded… And he still does. But at least now, he can be at peace. It’s gone for now, and like he observed before, the night is serene.
Louterstella: …Oh?
Right before his eyes, the stars start to change formation. Moving in unison, the stars come together to form seven constellations, all arranged in one circle. These constellations are in various shapes, looking mostly like shields… Just as he attempts to figure out what they are, he hears footsteps running from behind him. He doesn’t need to ask any questions about that, he knows just who they belong to.
Klarkstella: Louter!! The sky!
Louterstella: Ah, you felt it too, I see.
Klarkstella: The stars… What are these shapes?
Louterstella: I’m not sure what they mean, but I can vaguely make out a few of them.
He points to the one on the very top, a heart with a crown on it.
Louterstella: This one appears to be a heart.
Klarkstella: And that one?
The second one just southwest of it has the shape of the face of a lion.
Louterstella: It looks like the face of a beast… Only, I don’t know what kind of beast it looks like.
Klarkstella: Don’t beasts usually mean something is going to go wrong?
Louterstella: Hehe, I should hope not, Klark. There are great tales of beasts who have been great heroes in the past. I haven’t read any of them, but I know that they exist.
Klark points out the one opposite of the beast, the one that looks like… Tentacles?
Klarkstella: Doesn’t that one appear to have tentacles?
Louterstella: There is also a nautilus shell in the middle of them… The ocean?
Klarkstella: And that one looks like a snake!
Louterstella squints at the remaining starry pictures. These last three look especially strange… And those are the ones that concern him most.
Louterstella: Look Klark, do you see this one?
Klarkstella: You mean that sword in a… Skull?
Below the snake picture, there is a picture of a shield containing a sword in a skull, with a crown on top.
Klarkstella: I don’t understand…
Louterstella: And it’s not even the last one. Look!
Louter points at a shield with a hydra, a three headed creature of the underworld, in it. A flame rests on top of the shield.
Klarkstella: Wait… I’ve read about something like this in the library…! It’s a creature of something called the underworld, which is a place of…
Louterstella: …Of what?
Klarkstella: …Souls. Dead souls.
Louter gasps at the mention of death. Now he is sure that whatever the stars have predicted tonight, it isn’t good… No, it’s alarming.
Klarkstella: And that last one… Is that a dragon?
The picture south of the heart picture depicts a winged dragon, with thorns surrounding the shield it is inside. Horns come out from the top of the shield…
Klarkstella: All of these… Don’t they all have something to do with an animal?
Louterstella: I don’t know… But it seems like they do. All but the heart, which is just… A heart.
Klarkstella: But that doesn’t make sense! A heart represents love, but all of these other animals… They look intimidating, like they could scare anyone away.
Louter turns to leave the balcony.
Louterstella: I need to address this to Lord Lala and Lord Kiki right away!
Klarkstella: Wait, Louter, look what’s happening!
Turning back, Louter steps forward, his eyes growing wide as another picture forms in the center of the circle. This picture, at first, just looks like an old but elegant picture frame. A raven with its wings spread out comes together to finish the picture, and as soon as it does, the constellations glow, illuminating the kingdom with their light.
Louterstella: Another animal…!
Klarkstella: It’s a bird! But what kind of bird…?
Louterstella: A hawk?
Klarkstella: I have never seen anything like this in my whole life!
Louterstella: It frustrates me that I can’t make out whether this is a good prediction or not… We need to tell our lords about all that we just saw.
Klarkstella: Yes, we should.
Louterstella: Because whatever is coming… I don’t feel good about it.
And the stars did hear him, for the call of a raven echoes into the late night, heard by only the two worried astronomers of the kingdom.
