Chapter Text
The old, bearded smurf sighed as he leaned against the cold stone wall behind him. Papa Smurf wasn’t expecting this but here he was.
In jail.
He was worried for his village as he sat there. He told his little smurfs he will be gone for 5 months but he managed to get all his needed supplies in 2 months. It was amazing, it was definitely in a record time for his old age. But he got cocky, so he decided to make a half-baked teleportation potion as an attempt to out do himself by getting home instantly.
In a way, he did get home! Just… not his home.
He has no idea how he crosses between the realms of his universe and whatever this one was. Though, he can guess the particles of his body were trying to travel to a timeline where he was at his village at record-time. But it fizzled out between a time and dimension that is nowhere near his.
His eyes shifted to the bars when he heard footsteps approaching, they were light but echoed far, definitely high heels. Papa Smurf sat up straight, knowing the only smurf he knew wore high heels was: Smurfette.
Except, she doesn’t look like the one he knows. Her hair was long yet a dark shade of blue, almost reminiscent of when Smurfette was under Gargamel’s control. But that was a raven black, not a midnight blue, she also had dark blue freckles around her cheeks, neck and hands. She was wearing a white chemise, a black belt, white bonnet and a blue waist tunic. She looked like a maid when he thought about it.
“Smurfette.” The old smurf said, getting up from his bench.
Her gaze flickered to Papa Smurf, hesitant, like she was afraid that he knew her name. She didn’t speak back, which he was hoping he could reason with her but all she did was slide the tray of food she had in her hand under the space of the bars and left.
He held it, disappointed that none of the smurfs here would speak to him civilly. Treated like a criminal was so bizarre and broke his heart, though he can’t blame these smurfs, they weren’t his.
They look nothing like him. The big, rounded ears now were pointed like an elf, their enlarged nose was shaped more like a muzzle and the stubby tail was bushy and long. Almost like these smurfs had evolved from squirrels than what smurfs originally existed from.
He must look odd in a way, almost uncanny with the similarities but not quite there. He stared down at the tray, looking at the purple mush, blueberry yogurt was probably what it was.
Papa Smurf definitely was not eating that, since it looks slightly brown and had leaves in it. However this ‘kingdom’ was running, all the preparations seemed unhygienic. Though the bearded smurf soon looked at the bars when he heard high heels again, his brow raised, he tried to look down the hall, to see who was arriving.
It wasn’t just high heels but clanking metal hitting the ground. To his surprise, it was two smurfs he can identify easily despite the different features: Brainy and Hefty.
The strong smurf wearing armor, holding a wooden twig that was sharpened to be a well-made spear. While the glasses wearing smurf had such elegant fabrics on. A white surcoat, multiple golden rings, a black belt, long, white stockings, white heels, yellow royal mantle and a golden crown embroidered with blue sapphires. It was strange to not see a white hat on Brainy but even more so with these smurfs being dressed fully.
Papa Smurf must look like a bum to them. Though, he wasn’t insecure, just concerned that these smurfs will list him as unfitting of society and keep him in the cell. Along with taking his bag full of supplies that they confiscated earlier, he knew all his stuff inside could help him escape if he got it back.
“My… My… What a sight.” Brainy spoke softly, eyeing Papa up and down.
Hefty did the same, keeping silent as he stood tall to keep the appearance of a strong knight that was protecting the obvious king.
“Brainy, Hefty, good to see some reasonable smurfs!” Papa spoke, grabbing the bars.
That alarmed the two smurfs, not expecting this stranger to know their names out of nowhere. Brainy narrowed his eyes then back at Hefty before replying as his expression hardened.
“I’m King Smurf, the ruler of the Smurf Kingdom. Who are you?” Brainy inquired.
Papa Smurf hesitated as he looked away, not really wanting to address Brainy as King but he probably had to now. But he will mentally note that it’s Brainy regardless.
“Papa Smurf.” He absentmindedly replied.
That caused the two smurfs to look at each other again, Hefty’s tail bristled in confusion, like they didn’t expect to hear that.
“What is your name?” Brainy repeated, his tone more sharp.
“I just said—“
“That isn’t a name!” Brainy huffed, throwing his mantle to his side, to show off the left side of his surcoat more.
Papa could sense the irritation rising in Brainy’s voice, like he wanted to yell but couldn’t at the moment. He tilted his head since he doesn’t really have another name to go by currently.
“I’m sorry but that is my name, Brainy.” He shrugged.
“My name is King Smurf!”
Hefty stepped forward, planning to intervene any second from this situation, to prevent any further escalation of King Smurf’s anger.
“Request to silence the prisoner, sire?” Hefty said, his voice more gruffled than the original Hefty.
Though, Papa let go of the bars, actually a bit worried in his situation. Since he assumed these smurfs wouldn’t hurt him, smurfs were docile. At least, in his universe, as he raised them to be peaceful and caring to the ones in need.
But he was not in his universe. The dread slowly seeped in as Brainy glared at Hefty, no friendliness in sight.
“If I requested that, I would have said that, squire!”
“I was just trying to…” Hefty tried to speak.
“I didn’t pay you to think.”
Pay? Papa raised a brow, it was interesting to hear as it implies money was used in this ‘kingdom’. He remembered how that went, making him think Accountant Smurf and Greedy Smurf are pretty well off here. Brainy was evidently the richest due to the gold around his fingers that emphasizes it.
“If you may, can I please get my bag?” Papa said, hoping these smurfs can be reasoned, “I don’t belong here, I made a little error in my spell and…”
“Spell?” Brainy raised a brow, “No one has been able to create magic since…”
As Brainy’s trailed his sentence off, his eyes flickered to Hefty, the well kept tail swaying cautiously. The two obviously have been giving each other’s cautious look between each other the whole time they were here. Papa was nervous about it, like he was just saying things that aren’t in his favor.
“Open the cell, sire.”
The old smurf’s eyes widened, casually surprised to be let go. He let out a sigh of relief, he knew these smurfs wouldn’t harm him, he knew them in another dimension. It shouldn’t be too hard to reason with them.
As Hefty approached, the metal of his armor clanging, Brainy Smurf shifted in place, reaching his hand into the mantle that blocked his right side.
The door swing opened, Papa walking out with no hesitation until a dagger was pointed at his neck. Instantly he tensed up, staring down at it as Brainy examined him.
“You look like him…” Brainy murmured.
“King Smurf?” Hefty whispered, trying to interrupt the other’s thoughts for some reason.
“Hefty, I swear to the guardians!” The glasses wearing smurf gritted his teeth.
“Can… Can I have my bag…?” Papa muttered, hoping he could just leave the dimension and go home.
He really didn’t want to stay any longer, a bit disconcerted by this whole circumstance.
“No… It’s mine now.” Brainy hummed smugly as he lowered the dagger.
The old smurf gulped as he was glad that it was gone, until it was replaced with Hefty’s spear. Really, he doesn’t know why this was warranted all this hostility. But the soft click of high heels echoed off the dungeon walls as Brainy began to lead the way, Hefty nudging Papa to walk as he shifted the spear to point at the bearded smurf’s back.
Walking through the tower was strange, the village has no structure like this, especially when looking out the windows they pass by to see the mushroom homes replaced with wooden houses. It was like these smurfs ditched the natural landscape for a human made town. It felt… hollow and empty in a way, to see what the village can turn into if it was developed under monarchy.
That made him wonder where he was. Not he as himself but the alternative universe him. Why would he let it go on like this? His eyes shifted to Brainy’s back, he remembered something vaguely like this, that the smart smurf took over the village when he was gone for a month.
Was the alternative universe him off on an adventure?
“Excuse me… Where is your version of Papa?” He couldn’t help but ask, wanting answers.
Brainy’s bushy tail stiffened, practically ignoring the clear inquiry that was spoken. Leaving the air awkward and tense.
“Do you have a proper name to call you?” Brainy soon spoke as they entered a large room.
Papa glanced around, it was well decorated, a large bed in the middle of the room. May this be his assigned room now? How nice, at least it wasn’t a cell anymore.
“Uh… I go by—“
“We are NOT calling you that.” Brainy scoffed.
“Ah…”
There was a long silence, Papa glancing down at the floor. He had been a pickle like this before, well, not exactly like this. Though, he knew if he played along for a bit, he could access the needed ingredients from his bag to teleport himself to his life.
So, he inhaled slowly as he had to remember the old name he was once called by his own Papa. He never thought he would be called by it again.
“Allan.”
“Allan?” Brainy raised a brow.
“Allan?” Hefty spoke as well, beyond confused.
“What?” Papa said as he glanced between the two.
Brainy huffed and adjusted his mantle for a bit, “That is like calling you, Peaceful Smurf…”
The bearded smurf softly smiled, not expecting Brainy to know the meaning of his name instantly. But then again, this was the bookworm of the village, what information he knew was intriguing as you don’t know what he can say from memory.
“Well… I assure you, I am as peaceful as I look.”
“Shirtless?” Hefty said.
Papa cleared his throat, glancing at the guard, “Uh… I guess? You can viewed it as vulnerable too.”
“Whatever.” Brainy shook his head and pointed a finger at Papa’s chest, “That isn’t important.”
Papa tilted his head as Brainy continued his sentence.
“How do you know magic?”
That's all Brainy wanted. The knowledge of magic, which surprised Papa when there were no books on such things in this universe. It was like these smurfs were not naturally magic. Which would make sense why they evolved from squirrels than some divine creation from the blue moon and Mother Nature herself.
Though, he didn’t mind sharing his knowledge, as it was helping him gradually earn his bag back. It had been a week, sitting in his chair in the bedroom he was given. Writing into a journal to recreate one of his spell books, though with his 580 years of life, his mind was a bit rusty on most recipes.
The door softly opened, his head slowly turned to see Brainy.
“King Smurf.” Papa said.
“Allan.” Brainy stated.
They stared at each other for a bit. It was awkward in a way, as the two had to acknowledge each other’s existence for this long. But it calmed Papa down in a way, as he was passively fighting to see his own smurfs. He missed his Brainy, how that smurf would try to say something witty and reading off his notes to show he researched something. The way the smurf would puff his chest from pride as he always try to impress him.
This universe was… fine in a way. All the smurfs were just fine, more anxious and defensive though. Though bushy tails were also distracting as they flickered, bristled and swayed with emotion. Even now, as Brainy approached with a soft wag, it just make him stare a little:
“What are you writing down?” Brainy mumbled, his hand softly resting on Papa’s shoulder.
“I’m recalling the ingredients for this antidote.”
“Antidote?”
“Yes, for an upset stomach.”
“Ah…” Brainy hummed.
His hand soon squeezed Papa’s shoulder. There was a hesitation from Brainy before he leaned in gently kissing the old smurf’s cheek. Papa didn’t flinch nor was surprised by the move, this Brainy was always weird around him. Always hovering over him and brushing fingers against his arm, like he was checking if he was still real.
Papa glanced at Brainy for an instant, the other smurf stared back. There was a moment, where the two just gazed into each other’s eyes as they were getting a vibe from the situation. Brainy gradually had his fingers hold the lines Papa’s jawline, running along the beard before tilting his head to lock lips with the older smurf.
Papa Smurf didn’t pull away, letting the younger smurf have his way. Partially because he was missing his version of Brainy, sure, letting himself kiss this one was strange. He never had feelings for the smart smurf but this was this strange need to have him. His hands reach over to hold Brainy’s hips gently pulling him in, his legs shifting to the side of the chair just so he can have the other smurf on his lap.
There were no words exchanged as they were both kissing, just an understanding they just wanted a connection between. Whatever they missed intensified to grope and caress the other’s body.
Brainy’s hands slid around the bare torso of Papa Smurf, squeezing the little chub and muscles of the older smurf. The love handles getting pinched the most, Papa softly moaned as he pulled away.
“This is weird.” The bearded smurf verbalized.
Like he needed to acknowledge what they’re doing isn’t typical for their dynamic.
“Yeah..” Brainy agreed.
They were softly panting, trying to recollect what was occurring. But Brainy definitely didn’t want to process much as his hips gently swayed in a circular motion, grinding lightly against Papa. The older smurf exhaled slowly before he embraced Brainy softly, welcoming the inappropriate movement.
“At least move it to the bed.” Papa mumbled, tilting his head towards the mentioned mattress.
“Mhm… alright.”
Everything was happening so fast, the two running on hormones as they wanted to have relief. Papa gently pushed Brainy down, kissing him softly as he got on top. The younger smurf whimpered, his hands already playing with the bearded smurf’s waistband. Papa Smurf’s tiny tail wagged wildly, the raising excitement had him so content about the situation.
“Smurfness… Papa…” Brainy moans out.
That made the old smurf paused for a moment, not expecting Brainy to moan that out. Though, he smirked and went to nibble the delicate skin of the other smurf’s neck, lightly marking this Brainy with soft hickies. This universe was definitely strange, not exactly the same as Papa’s original, though he was strangely having fun.
As he pulled away, panting and staring down at Brainy, his heartbeat quickened as he saw how dazed the other was. Brainy just looked so delectable with his half-lidded eyes, his lips flushed a pretty lavender and how they parted as he catches his breath. The bite marks were barely visible and Brainy’s royal mantle was ruffled as it was about to fall. Making Papa Smurf’s fingers immediately went to untie it off the smart smurf. It wasn’t like they needed that. Not what they were going to do, this was something that never crossed his mind with his Brainy.
But technically this was King Smurf. So, he was ready to pleasure this smurf regardless.
