Chapter 1: The lighting thief

Chapter Text

Percy Jackson (age 17) is a mysterious figure who took the internet by storm around 5 years ago. He made his first appearance when he disappeared after he and his mother, Sally Jackson (see related articles), were in a car crash. The car in question belonged to Sally's husband and Jackson's step father, Gabriel “Gabe” Ugliano. Gabe made a statement saying that they had planned on taking a weekend trip to Montauk, which is not unusual for the pair to do for summer break. Jackson was reported missing and was later assumed kidnapped by an unknown captor we will go over later. His next spotting was on a bus where he was reported to fight three old ladies with a baseball bat, despite allegedly not boarding with it. This conflict had ended in the bus crashing. When police arrived to investigate the crash, Jackson had already fled, leaving us only to eye witness testimony. His next sighting had been at the St. Louis Gateway Arch, where he was spotted with a blonde girl identified as Annabeth Chase (see related articles) and a boy assumed to be Grover Underwood (see related articles), along with an unidentified woman and her chihuahua. They had caused a reportedly large commotion where Jackson was allegedly spotted jumping from the arch into the impossible, which was reported false due to the factual fallacy in the claim. Not long after he and his two others were seen in a local burger restaurant with a man who is assumed to be his captor, why he didn't make a struggle or signal for help is unknown, and why the captor would have taken the children to such an open place is also unknown. They disappeared just after, again making police unable to question them. The children were next spotted exiting the Lotus Hotel and Casino, a tourist hot spot in Las Vegas, despite those who enter being reported missing when they enter, and if they return claim to only have been in the hotel for a few days. This has brought up many conspiracy theories of time travel, none grounded in actual evidence. Jackson's next reportable sighting was when he was caught fighting his captor with a gun on the beach. Where he got the weapon is up for debate, but it is assumed he stole it off his captor, who was holding a similar one. Jackson and his friends ended up escaping, where he fled back to New York, and his mother had returned or been returned. Jackson was barred from questioning and Sally refused to answer any media or police questions. Leaving the case unknown. It is believed to have been a life insurance scam Gabriel was in on, having taken out Sally's life insurance before she was confirmed to be dead, and due to the crash happening in his car. He was an online poker player, in a considerable amount of debt, so this claim is not illogical. He disappeared not long after the return of his wife and stepson, assumed to have fled with the money and is missing to this day. Sally then sold a hyper realistic stone statue called “The Poker Player” and has not sold any further art pieces since.
