Yet another multiverse chatfic

Summary:

I had ideas for another multiverse chatfic, so here ya go, enjoy my deranged writings!

This is mostly a side project which will be updated less frequently than "on the shoulders of dimensional giants"

Belle: What’s this? Why’s there a new app on my phone?

Miles: The energy readings are off the charts… Even the wall chart.

Izuku: You have a wall chart?

Jane: You have a wall chart?

Miles: Of course! I’ve got charts of all different sizes for different scales of readings! Don’t you?

Harry: Uh… no…

Izuku: Wow, we had the exact same thought Jane-san

Lena: Okay, what the bloody hell is goin’ on here?

Miles: Judging from the energy output, it seems that something has forged a connection between our universes!

Belle: Like out of an old Sci-Fi movie?

Harry: Anything’s possible with magic.

Izuku: Wait… you have magic?!?

Harry: Don’t you?

Miles: Okay, okay. This is clearly not going to go anywhere. Best thing for us to do is talk face to face. Y’know, so we can better tryst each other and get an idea of what’s going on.

Ren: Agreed. Alright, who’s gonna go first?

Lena: Since Miles proposed it, why don’t they go first?

Miles: Alright, just gotta get the camera set up.

Opening Video Chat

On the screen, first to appear wasn’t a person, but a wooden ceiling. On the edge of the video feed was what looked to be some kind of propeller.

“Sorry, just give me a second. Knux used the camera drone last and I’ve gotta adjust the gyroscope.” The voice in the video said, “And… there. All good! Hi, everyone, I’m Miles Prower, but everyone just calls me Tails. As you can see.”

The voice belonged to an anthropomorphic yellow fix, with white fur on his muzzle and chest. Behind his back idly flicked a large pair of tails, tipped with white fur.

“I’m… Yeah, I’m ten years old, and I’ve saved the world on seventeen different occasions.” Miles said, “So, why don’t we all introduce ourselves?”

The camera of another screen flickered to life.

“Sorry, just gotta adjust this…” A young woman said, as the monochrome video feed shifted to full colour.

“Hi, I’m Belle! I run the Random Play video store with my brother, Wise.” The woman said, “and don’t tell anyone, but I also manage an underground network of people diving into pocket dimensions for resources. Callsign Phaethon”

Belle had blue hair and teal eyes, with a perpetual grin on her face.

“By the way, Miles, are you a Thiren?” Belle asked, “I’ve never seen a Thiren with extra appendages”

“I’m not a… Thiren… We have a ton of different names for ourselves. But when we made contact with the humans of our world, it was with the aid of their scientist Doctor Harold Mobius. So some people call us Mobians.”

“That’s so cool!” Belle shouted.

“Try to keep it quiet.” Another voice said, “I’m trying to make sure Uncle Vernon doesn’t bust in here and try to break anything.” The camera for them came to life. A black-haired boy, with bright green eyes and a lightning bolt shaped scar atop his brow.

“I’m Harry, Harry Potter. And… I’m a wizard.” The black-haired boy said. He’s no older than 14 by the looks of it.

“Wizard, huh?” Miles asked, “Could come in handy against Eggman’s robots. Most of ‘em don’t do too well against magic of any kind.”

“Eggman?” Belle asked, stifling a laugh as she did so.

“Doctor Ivo Robotnik, but everyone calls him Eggman. He’s been trying to take over the world for years now, and succeeded quite a few times. There’s also the 5 different apocalyptic threats he unleashed. Chaos, Dark Gaia, the Hyper-Go-On singularity, The Time Eater and then the Metal Virus.” Tails said, shuddering at the last one, “We would’ve been completely wiped out if it weren’t for Silver.”

“Silver?” Harry asked.

“Oh, he’s a time traveller, from the future. Apparently, something happened to him and he came… unstuck from linear time. We don’t know if he even ages any more.” Miles answered.

“I can relate.” Another voice said, “Cheers, luvs. Lena Oxton ‘ere.”

Lena was a brown-haired athletic woman with eyes the same mahogany as the door behind her.

“Uh… what do you mean by that, Lena?” Jane asked.

“There was an… accident a few years back. I was flying an experimental jet, and… well it was supposed to teleport but it malfunctioned. It felt like I was being pulled everywhere at once. Every part of me was in agony, I couldn’t even breathe without the stinging pain of burning atmosphere or drowning. And then, Winston made this chamber that anchored me to the present, and then my Chronal Accelerator.” Lena said, as she tapped the device on the table next to her, “I’ve got a portable one too for when I’m out and about. But… without the accelerator I’d basically be dead. Scattered across all of time all at once”

“Guess I’m next.” said another voice, as another camera turned on. It had a teen boy, with black hair and eyes of ash, “I’m Ren, Ren Amamiya, and… Fuck it pisses me off.”

“Tut-tut. Language.” Belle said, grinning on her screen.

“I rescue a woman from being assaulted by a random guy, and she sides with the guy in saying I just baselessly attacked the two of ‘em.” Ren said, “That’s what I get for trying to do the right thing.”

“Hey, kid, you’re gonna get punished for doing the right thing, but that shouldn’t stop you from doing it” Jane responded on the voice call, “You’ve got a duty to make the universe a better place.”

“Yeah, well the universe can kiss my taint.” Ren retorted.

“Dammit. Okay, let’s get this over with.” Jane said, as her camera flickered to life. The room was plain grey, and Jane was sat in a chair, her back straight. Crimson hair framed a rather average looking face, like flames licking the sides of a bonfire.

“Wow, you kinda look like my mom.” Harry said.

“Real vote of confidence being your walking oedipus complex kiddo.” Jane said, “So… This is strange. I’ll get started. I lived on Mindoir, one of our border colonies near the Terminus systems. Well, some Batarians decided to try to abduct us as slaves. I…”

“You don’t have to discuss this if it brings up bad memories.” Miles said, “I know I certainly wouldn’t.”

“”It’s okay, just… a lot to deal with.” Jane said, “Apparently, the commander of that raiding party liked ‘em young. Came down personally to collect the children. I hid in a shipping crate until the alliance reinforcements saved what few of us were left.”

“Sweet jesus…” Ren muttered.

“I enlisted in the alliance military to get my payback as soon as I could. Led an attack on one of their main economic worlds, a slave world called Torfan. We were supposed to be bringing in some of their high ranking officials, but the Batarians… They’re an entire civilisation of slavers and monsters. I executed the batarian Hegemon then and there, and began a round-up of every free batarian on that planet. Executed every last one of them.”

“I’m not gonna say they don’t deserve it, believe me I’ve seen some absolutely horrible monsters, but isn’t executing every last one going too far?” Miles asked.

“One of my friends from Mindoir, a girl called Talitha, had this shock collar. They’d done fucked up shit to her brain where she couldn’t properly string two words together, was scared to disobey them for fear of the electrocution. Monsters who do that, my only regret is I couldn’t hand them to the devil myself.” Jane retorted, “Every last slave from Torfan was taken to facilities to be treated. Batarians call me the Butcher for what I did. Far as I care, they deserved worse.”

“And here I thought you were the responsible adult here.” Lena said with a grin.

“I… I guess I’m up now…” Izuku said, turning his camera on. He was a teen, with deep green hair and eyes like seafoam.

“This, is me. I’m… I’m powerless, in a world where everyone has superpowers. I’m… ordinary, and that’s the worst thing someone can be.” Izuku said, “I… I wanna become a proper hero though. Oh, right, sorry forgot that part. Well, we’ve got heroes, people who are licensed to use their superpowers without it being self-defense. Anyway, I wanna be a hero so I can help people.”

“Damn, kid. That takes a lot of balls.” Jane said, leaning back in her chair, “You got any sorta plan?”

“I mean, I’ve started doing some training, and I’ve been studying the best heroes for years at this point. I’ve got notes on everything they do, so I can possibly replicate it with technology or skill.” Izuku said, “Plus, there’s heroes who fight quirkless, hopefully I can get one of them to train me when I get into Yuuei.”

“Well, the world could always use more heroes.” Lena said.
