Chapter Text
- Humans and shape-shifters coexist in this world. There is sometimes discrimination against shape-shifters, who represent a minority. Hunters are a group of extremist humans who are anti-shape-shifters, either because they simply hate wolves or because they are motivated by greed.
- Some shape-shifters live in packs made up of several families, couples, or individuals, under the leadership of a pack alpha. Others prefer to live independently.
- There are packs that are well known either for their very conservative and ancestral values or for the large number of individuals within the pack.
- Shapeshifters have two minds, that of a human and that of a wolf. The two remain extremely connected to each other. At full moon, the wolf mind takes over, which systematically leads to a transformation. The rest of the time, the transformation occurs with the agreement of both the human and wolf minds. The wolf spirit can also take over the human spirit in cases of strong emotions or during heat and rut. In this case, a change in the color of the individual's eyes can be observed.
- Shapeshifters are only men and are divided into three categories: Alphas, who have a penis and can transform into male wolves, can also reproduce with omegas.
Omegas, who have a vagina and breasts (only when they have young to feed or when they are pregnant). They are able to transform into female wolves and are the only ones who can conceive young.
Betas, who have a penis and a vagina and transform into either a male or female wolf, depending on the individual.
- Some shape-shifters may have genetic abnormalities, meaning that the individual's sex does not match the sex of the wolf, leading to fertility problems. However, this is very rare.
- The offspring of shape-shifters also have two minds, that of the child and that of the wolf cub. A wolf cub has less control over its transformation than adults. They can transform directly when experiencing strong emotions or by mimicry when they see another wolf transform. Their gender is defined at birth.
- Wolf cubs need to be nursed longer than humans. Generally, for five to six years for an alpha or beta, up to eight years for an omega (they need more hormones to develop their internal organs).
- An omega becomes fertile around the age of majority during its first heat. The omega's heat triggers the alpha's rut, never the other way around, and if there is no heat, there is no rut.
