The air on the roof of the B-Pit was cool, but the atmosphere was heavy with a tension that had nothing to do with Beyblade. Gingka was sitting on the edge, his legs dangling over the side, looking at his Galaxy Pegasus
A soft thud behind him announced a visitor. He didn't even need to turn around to know who it was. The scent of wild wind and the sound of heavy boots were unmistakable
"You're going to catch a cold here, Gingka. And I won't have you losing our next match because you were sneezing," Kyoya’s voice was raspy, cutting through the silence
He chuckled, looking back as Kyoya leaned against the doorway, arms crossed over his chest. "Always thinking about the next battle, huh? You could just say you were worried about me."
"In your dreams," Kyoya scoffed, but he didn't leave. Instead, he walked over and sat down beside Gingka—much closer than a 'rival' normally would
For a long moment, they just watched the stars. The silence wasn't awkward; it was charged. Gingka noticed how the moonlight caught the scars on Kyoya’s face, making him look less like a beast and more like... something beautiful
"Why me, Kyoya?" Gingka asked softly, his usual bubbly tone replaced by something more intimate. "You could challenge anyone. Why do you follow me across continents?"
Kyoya turned his head, his sharp blue eyes locking onto Gingka’s warm brown ones. The distance between them was barely a few inches. "Because no one else matters," Kyoya whispered, his voice losing its bite. "You're the only one who burns bright enough to keep me interested. It’s like... I’m a storm, and you’re the only thing that doesn't get swept away."
Gingka felt his heart race—and it wasn't the adrenaline of a Let It Rip. Without thinking, he reached out, his fingers brushing against Kyoya’s gloved hand. To his surprise, Kyoya didn't pull away. Instead, he turned his hand over, interlocking his fingers with Gingka’s.
"I'm not going anywhere," Gingka promised, his voice barely a breath
Kyoya smirked, that fierce, predatory look returning, but this time it was directed at Gingka's lips. "Good. Because I'm not done with you yet."
In the quiet of the night, the rivalry didn't disappear—it just transformed into something much more dangerous, and much more sweet.
