Hello, readers! Fir3andbl00d here to provide some background and context for what I plan this fic on being about!
Premise: Someone had once suggested I write a fic about Jon and Dany at the Ashford Tourney. For a while, I had no idea how to do this or how it would even work. Until I saw an art on Twitter of Dany as Baelor's daughter ... Several weeks later, I thought, well if Dany is Baelor's daughter, then Jon could be one of Maekar's sons, and here we are!

I will start off with a disclaimer that this is NOT a time travel fic. Jon and Dany in this story are not the same Jon and Dany from the main series. Since they are being raised in different environments, with different parents and siblings, their personalities will be slightly changed, but not drastically. You'll still see them as good people who do the right thing and protect the innocent.
I'm sort of stealing Lyanna's role as a mystery knight and giving it to Dany. Jon meanwhile, will be Maekar's perfect son, a born warrior who's not cruel/insane (looking at you, Aerion). As always, I will be writing Jon/Dany as a romantic pairing, but this is not going to be an explicit content heavy fic, if there is any such content at all. They will be in love, of course, but this fic will mostly explore their lives growing up and then finish with the events of the Hedge Knight/Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Dany will keep her dragon dreams, but is able to handle them far better than Daeron.
Jon remains a beloved big brother to his younger siblings, especially Aemon.
Sorry, no Ghost and no dragons here.
I'm not trying to slander or take away key parts of Jon and Dany's characters, I just want to write a fun, new AU with my favorite ship.

With all that being said, the general layout is going to be several chapters/snippets/scenes of Jon and Dany growing up at Summerhall/Dragonstone/King's Landing. The narration may bounce around between characters, but I intend to mostly write from Jon and Dany's perspectives. Once these prelude scenes and chapters are done, the fic will transition to being about the days before the tourney and the tourney itself, including the Trial of Seven.
