Work Text:
It's been 2 hours since Pepper last saw Tony, the man just randomly went off after muttering something about 'fashion statements'. This is usually not that much of a concern for her as Tony is known to just get up and disappear whilst he's drunk. Usually it just means that Pepper has to wake him up in the morning after he passed out in his workshop.
This time however, Pepper is a little bit more concerned as she hasn't heard a peep from him. She can't even hear random sounds in his workshop and JARVIS isn't updating her on Tony's condition.
So, 2 hours gone. There's a drunk Tony Stark SOMEWHERE in the house, JARVIS isn't giving any updates on where Tony could be or could have possibly gone, Pepper hasn't heard a single noise from Tony whatsoever, and she's more than a little bit worried.
"Hey, JARVIS?" She asks the AI, knowing it'll answer her, programming and all that.
"Yes, Ms. Potts?" Came the robotic response almost immediately, slightly startling Pepper a little. Even after being Tony's assistant for several years at this point, she still couldn't get over the way JARVIS immediately responds to her.
"Do you know where Tony is? I haven't seen him in quite a bit and the silence from him is more than a little worrying." Pepper asks, hoping Tony was in the house so that she wouldn't have to go out and try to find him.
"I believe Boss is in one of the bedrooms upstairs, I can try to figure out which one by accessing the cameras but I don't think all the rooms have cameras installed." JARVIS replied, weirdly enough expressing some kind of emotion in it's voice.
Pepper could never figure out how Tony programmed that into the AI but she wasn't too curious about it, at least it added some kind of humanity into the robotic tone. It eased her just a little.
"Yes please. When you find which room he's in, tell me immediately. Don't allow Tony to tell you otherwise," Pepper insisted, hoping the man was in his own bedroom. If he was then it would be a lot easier to get him to sleep rather than try to drag him through the house into another room.
"Alright Ms. Potts."
A couple seconds passed as JARVIS searched, Pepper growing increasingly worried. This seemed to take a little longer then she first anticipated, each second felt like an eternity. Pepper started to pace around the room as she waited, hoping to ease some of the anxiety that had crept up on her.
Eventually JARVIS' response came, "Boss seems to be in your bedroom, there's no cameras in there so I can't see what he's doing."
"What is he doing there?" Pepper muttered to herself before responding to the AI, "Thank you, JARVIS. I'll head up right away."
Pepper had insisted that Tony didn't install cameras in what was supposed to be her bedroom when she first moved into the house. Initially, Pepper wasn't even supposed to move in, however, Tony insisted that she did to make her job easier. Tony never argued with Pepper about not installing cameras in her room for JARVIS to watch her through, that was something that she was very grateful for.
Tony never went into Pepper's room when she moved in, he said it was 'an invasion of the only privacy you have' so for Tony to be in her room now really freaked Pepper out. She practically ran upstairs hoping to get Tony out of there as quick as possible, she had no idea what to expect and no clue what was going on. Why had Tony been in there for so long? What WAS he doing?
So much to her surprise when Pepper opened the door, this was the last thing she expected to witness Tony doing.
There was the self-proclaimed genius, Billionaire, playboy, philanthropist Tony Stark sat at Pepper Potts' vanity, putting on what seemed to be eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick as he looked very carefully in the mirror. Pepper didn't know whether to burst out laughing or gasp as she took in the sight.
She stood there frozen for a second or two before she asked, "Jesus, Tony. What on earth are you doing?"
Tony, obviously not expecting Pepper to be there, jumped and quickly turned around. This time, Pepper had to physically hold herself back from laughing as she tried to keep her cool. Tony looked absolutely ridiculous with eyeshadow and eyeliner more on his nose and forehead than eyes and lipstick very messily applied pretty much all over his lips and around his mouth.
This was very much not expected at all. Pepper took out her phone and quickly snapped a picture before she took a deep breath and asked Tony, "Tony, what is this? Why do you have my makeup all over your face?"
Tony, looking very shocked, stared at her for a good 30 seconds, a very awkward silence if you ever asked Pepper, and proudly stated in his most 'this is very obvious' voice, "Well, Ms. Potts. It's a fashion statement."
