This is book 1 of a multi book series, this is the introductions to each characters followed by a story.
The updates will come soon, i had to figure out how to add images haha.

Hello readers!

Im beginning a multi book series about the ninja's future children! I have 5 books planned so far, i cant wait to write and publish them :)

This isnt a chapter its just a brief introduction to the characters i have created.

The children and 2 of the mothers i created myself and have the credits for :)                                                                                                                                    There are other characters that will be added later on in other books.                                                                                                                                                  each book is a different story, i dont want to give away any spoils so it will be a surprise for each one.                                                                                                        But this one is going to be an introduction to all characters, little mini stories, and followed by a story at the end involving some of the children.                                        The childrens description are in age order eldest to youngest. The twins are the oldest followed by jack they were born the same year. Lilly and aidan the following year, a month apart. Laila is the youngest, born a year after aidan. So the twins are 2 years older than her. Hope that makes sense :) Now i shall begin the basic introduction, a small profile and drawing of each character :) I did the artwork myself, its not very good tho haha! Images of everyone is at the bottom of the page :)

First up we have Lloyds wife, sophie. She is sweet and kind, and absolutely adores children. Her love for adventures led her to join the explorers club where she met misako. she has pale blue eyes, light skin and light brown hair. Her signature hair style is a bun with some waves at the bottom.

Next is coles ex girlfriend, mylie. She was a nice lady to begin with but soon shows her true colours. Her and cole arent together for long only a few months. She has tanned skin, brown eyes and black hair. Also she has a slit in her eyebrow to look 'cool'.

Next is the first of the children, jay and nya's twins! Jenny and nathan walker. Jenny is the older twin by a couple of minutes. She is very smart and loves inventing, especially with jay. She is also cheeky and loves pranking the adults with the other kids. She has jays brown curls and eyes, but she has nya's face shape and eyebrows. She is the future master of lightning.

Nathan is the younger twin. He is also smart but unlike his sister he is quiet and shy around people he doesnt know well. He loves to read. He has nya's calm black hair and eyes, but has jays face shape, freckles and eyebrows. He is the future master of water.

Next is zane and pixal's son, jack julien. He was named after a fictional character called jack frost, they decided the name was appropriate for a master of ice. He is a nindroid, but a very special one. Wait until his introduction chapter to find out why :) He is very smart and loves to help pixal with building mechs. He also loves painting and is very creative. He is a perfect mixture of both zane and pixal, and is the future master of ice.

Next is cole and mylie's daughter, lilly brookstone. She is calm and sensible, unlike some of the other children. Named after coles mother lilly. She loves to read and bake, she also loves cake just like her father. She looks exactly like cole and shares no features with her mother. She is the future master of earth.

Next is kai and skyler's son, aidan smith. He is the prank king of the monastery. Loves pranking the adults. He is very cheeky, sassy, and acts before thinking just like kai. When skyler is around he is on his best behaviour, she doesnt believe kai when he tells her how they get tortured by pranks. He is a mixture of kai and skyler, he has kai's eyes and smile. Skylers hair colour and eyebrows, And his hair is usualy messy. Kai often says he is jelous that aidan doesnt have to use hair gel to make it look good. He is the future master of fire.

Finally is Sophie and Lloyds daughter, laila garmadon. She is practically a copy of lloyd, especially with her behaviour. She is very cheeky, sometimes naughty, of course loves pulling pranks with jenny and aidan. Despite not being allowed it, she loves candy. The ninja always comment how she is just like lloyd when he was little and he always replies that he wasnt that bad (he definitely was). She has lloyds hair colour, slightly pointy ears from their heritage, his eyebrows, face shape and bright green eyes. She copys her mothers hair style so she has something she shares with her mother.

Now all the current characters i created have been slightly introduced (there are more to come later on), its time for extra information!

There is a group called the troublesome trio, they are aidan, jenny and laila. The adults nicknamed them this because of the pranks they pull together and they always get in trouble together.

Lloyd is the master, following in master wu's steps. Kai is sensei kai, assisting lloyd in training. The other ninja do train the children too but not as much as lloyd and kai.

Sophie isnt around much as she is often out on adventures with the explorers club. Mylie isnt mentioned much after this story, you will find out why in chapter 5. Skyler also isnt around much as she is running the noodle house still. (This is mainly because i want to focus on the children and the ninja)

I will also include images of the adults, showing how they look now. All artwork is done by me:) i use ibis paint x if anyone wanted to know, its very good and has alot of different tools definitely try it out if you like to draw :)

Anyway enough of this, lets get on with it! I hope you enjoy! Please give feedback good or bad, obviously not rude haha. I love feedback as i like to know if i can improve anything or if people actualy like what im writing.

The idea of all this sprung onto me one evening and here we are. I will start updates tomorrow, i was going to write the whole thing and publish in one go but decided to just do an update as often as possible, i aim for one a day or one every couple of days as i litterally have nothing else to do haha. Anyway enjoy! First chapter is how Lloyd and sophie met, expected tomorrow around 10-11pm uk time :)

The sun was still hiding behind the horizon but sophie was awake and ready to go.
She loved to explore and every day before school she got up and explored the woods behind her house.

"Mom please can i go out now" sophie pleaded to her mother who was making a coffee.

"Sophie darling its not even 5am.." she yawned as sophie bounced around near the back door.

"Im 10 years old im practically a grown up" she stated as she waited by the door.

"Okay fine go, but be safe please!" She shook her head knowing there would be no convincing her to wait.

She ran out the door ready to explore, theres always something new to see, she told herself every time.

Her dream was to one day join the explorers club of ninjago city, she loved the idea of going to unknown places for a living.
The sound of engines flew above her and she looked up to spot the destinys bounty flying over.

"I bet they get to go on so many adventures" she sighed as the ninja team flew away into the unknown.
Sophie continued on with her day of exploring before school.

"Yes mom ill be safe.... yes i know... yes i love you too ok bye now!" Sophie shook her head and smiled as she hung up the phone.

She always got a little speech of how to stay safe and what to do in emergencies every time before she went on her adventures.
Even though she was part of a team and knew all the safety information, her mother insisted.

"Your mother again?" A kind voice spoke into the room, joining sophie.

"Oh hello misako, yes going on about safety again even though im 22" she chuckled.

"Well ide be doing the same thing, im always telling lloyd to stay safe on his missions, and he's 25 he doesnt need me to but oh well" she replied to sophie who was getting ready to leave.

"Oh how are the ninjas? Its so cool that your the mother of one of them.
Especially that one being lloyd" she smiled and sat nexto misako who was tying up her boots.

"Yes they are well, you know.. i could always arrange for you to meet him.." misako smirked playfully at sophie.

"Who lloyd? Hehe why would i want to meet him" sophie blushed and tried to find something interesting to look at.

"Oh sophie dear its obvious you like him" misako laughed and stood up, preparing to leave for the latest exploration.

"I dont like him.. i havent even met him!" Sophie replied with a nervous chuckle, following misako out the door.

"Yet" misako added, she knew she had to get them to meet.
Sophie definitely had a crush on the green ninja, and lloyd was single.
She began to plot in her head as they left the explorers club.

"Hey mom!" Lloyd spoke as he approached misako.
They had arranged to go for a walk along the beach.
Although lloyd couldnt think of why she wanted to go for a walk, and she was serious that he came alone.

"Ah lloyd! I have someone i want you to meet, i brought her along for our walk" misako smiled and stepped to the side revealing sophie who was trying her hardest not to be shy.

"Hello im sophie, sorry she made me come" she chuckled with a small wave.

"Nice to meet you, im lloyd" he smiled awkwardly and offered his hand to shake.
They shook hands and misako smiled, her plan was going well so far.

"You two start walking, im just going to the toilet" she spoke and shuffled away before the pair offered to wait.

"Um okay then, so uh sophie tell me about yourself, i dont want to walk in awkward silence" lloyd chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.

Sophie began to speak about the explorers club and how it was something she always wanted to do, as she spoke lloyd noticed her eyes.

'She has such beautiful eyes..' lloyd thought to himself while nodding along to her.
He soon found himself daydreaming and not paying much attention to her story.

"Lloyd..? You with me? Sorry im probably boring you" she laughed as he snapped out of his daydream.

"Oh sorry yeah, i mean no your not boring me! Uh its just.. you have really nice eyes" he stuttered as began to blush slightly.

'Why did i say that last bit we litterally just met' he mentally cringed at himself.

"Oh thank you, you have nice eyes too" she replied with a smile.

They walked in silence for a minute before coming across an ice cream van surrounded by a ton of families that were also at the beach.

"Uh do you like ice cream? Ill get you one" lloyd offered and reached into his pocket for some money.

"Are you sure? I dont mind getting mine.." she smiled at him.

"No no ill get it, whats your favourite flavour?" He asked returning a smile to her.
He knew he would get his usual, mint choc chip, he guessed hers would probably be strawberry or chocolate.

"Ok then, mint choc chip, thank you so much!" She told him as she followed him into the queue.

"Omg really! Thats my favourite too!" Lloyd replied and they both laughed.
He paid for the ice cream and they took a seat at a bench to wait for misako to finally catch up.

"She really is taking a while, i hope she's okay.." lloyd glanced in the direction she went nervously.

"I think shes trying to keep us alone on purpose.. she was very insistent that i met you, she kept smiling weirdly in the car when she said you would be alone" sophie admitted, she knew the second misako left that she had left in hopes they would get to know eachother.
She was probably sat in the car watching them right now.

"Really? I thought it was weird that she wanted to go for a walk...
she never wants to just go for a walk" lloyd chuckled and continued to eat his ice cream.

The two spoke a bit longer about anything random that came to mind.
Once the ice creams had finished they decided to walk to the car park guessing thats where misako had vanished to.

"Oh before you go, i wanted to say it was nice meeting you and speaking and everything" lloyd smiled at her, he was glad his mom set them up to meet.

"It was nice to meet you too! And thank you again for the ice cream!" Sophie replied and deiced to do something crazy.

"Um do you have a phone? I can give you my number" she spoke awkwardly, she couldn't believe she just offered the green ninja her number.

"Yeah i was actually going to ask for it, here you go" he chuckled and blushed.
While she typed her number into his phone he spotted misako smirking at him from her car.
He shook his head at her and smiled.

"There you go, ill text you later, if you want of course if not just ignore me" she laughed and started to walk to the car.

"Thank you, yeah ill text you too! Bye sophie" he waved and smiled.
Once they had left he returned to his car and called nya.

"You will never guess what my mother just did.." he began.

Chapter Text

"So your mom got you to meet this girl and then left and hid in her car so youd be alone?" Nya questioned lloyd when he arrived back at the monastery.

"For the thousandth time yes.." lloyd sighed, he had already told her on the phone while driving.

"Sorry its just so funny" nya chuckled imagining how awkward the situation wouldve been.

"Whats funny?" Jay entered the room and kissed nyas cheek.

"Ha get this, misako told lloyd to meet her at the beach for a walk, but it was really a set up to meet a girl" nya excitedly told jay while lloyd shook his head.

"Oh my god really? GUYS lloyd has a girlfriend!" Jay shouted to the others who of course came straight away.

"Ugh shes NOT my girlfriend! We litterally met like an hour ago.." lloyd said firmly to everyone.

"Will you see her again?" Nya asked curiously.

"I dont know, ide have to ask her first" lloyd replied, he definitely wanted to see her again.
There was just something about her, he didnt know yet.
This was a different feeling he felt when he met harumi, or even akita.
He didnt know how to describe it.

"Aww you got her number" kai remarked with a grin.
Lloyd blushed and quickly tried to hide it.

"Look he's nearly as red as kai's gi ha!" Cole exclaimed with a laugh.

"Right goodbye, im not listening to you guys now" lloyd walked away while the others laughed,
He could hear nya telling them about misakos plot.

He didnt think it was THAT funny more sneeky, but he was glad she did it.
After taking a seat in his room he grabbed his phone and opened the text app.

At first his fingers hovered over the keyboard, unsure what to type.

"Uhh what do i even say.. am i texting her too fast? Do i wait.. but then what if she thinks im not interested.." lloyd sighed and stared at the name on the screen.
He remembered her pale blue eyes that kept grabbing his attention at the beach.
He smiled and began a simple text.

L-hi its lloyd, how are you :)-

It wasnt long before 3 little dots appeared at the bottom of the screen.

S-im great thanks! How are you-

L-good thanks, what are you up to?-

Lloyds smile widened as they continued to text, the strange feeling was back again.
It was as if he had butterflies in his stomach, he couldnt understand why.

After a while sophie offered to video call lloyd instead of text, once checking the ninja werent nearby his room he accepted.
If they knew he was calling a girl..
he shook his head thinking about all the jokes they would make.
Of course none of it was mean, they were just teasing him after all.

Once her face appeared on his screen he let out a smile and began to blush slighty.
'Theres those eyes again' he thought to himself as he greeted her.
He listened as she told him about the latest exploration her group had been on and what they had found.
The smile and butterflies wouldnt go away instead the feeling intensified every time they locked eye contact.
As she continued to talk, lloyd thought to himself,
'Is this feeling what i think it is.. do i.. do i like her?'

A few days had passed and lloyd still hadnt shaken this feeling.
He got giddy with excitement when it would near the time they video called every night.
So he decided to seek advice.
He thought nya at first but then decided on jay,
Afterall jay had a huge crush on nya and now look at them.

"Hey jay, can we talk.. in private?" Lloyd asked as jay paused his game.

"Yeah lloyd we can talk here if you want nobodys here at the moment" jay smiled at patted the seat nexto him.

"Ok so.. how did you know that you liked nya? I mean like like.." lloyd asked nervously while fiddling with his fingers.

"You like that girl dont you" jay smiled at lloyd who looked really uncomfortable.

"Hey no judgment! We all fall in love eventualy, even you greenie" jay put a hand on his shoulder and lloyd smiled.

"I guess i do yeah.. but what do i do? This is different than before.." lloyds smile faded at the last part, the memory of harumi entered his mind.
He thought she loved him, and look what he got in return..

"Lloyd dont think about harumi, she was toxic and evil. Think about uh.. whats her name sorry?" Jay questioned realising lloyd had never told them her name.

"Sophie" lloyd replied with a smile, just saying her name gave him butterflies.

"Nice name, so yeah just think about sophie.
I mean you definitely want something with her look at you smiling just saying her name" jay chuckled and lloyd shook his head.

"So what do i do?" He asked jay.

"Ask her on a date, if it works well then it does, if it doesnt then return to being friends.
If she's the right person for you, you'll know" jay replied with a smile, thinking about the amount of times he asked nya out only to eventually succeed after a whole trauma event.

Lloyd nodded and thanked jay as he left the room, promising to let him know when he asks her.

He dialled sophie's number with shaky hands.
His hand hovered over the call button for a while afraid to ask the question that had been on his mind all afternoon.

Lloyd had battled snakes, the overlord, and so much more.
Yet asking a girl on a date was a battle proving difficult.
He sighed and pressed the button knowing he had to get it over with.

"Hi lloyd! How are you" sophie answered cheerily.

"Im good, how are you?" Lloyd replied with a smile.
He started to think if this was the wrong move, they only met days ago.

"Im good thank you, whats up? Its not the usual call time" sophie chuckled.

"I uh need to ask you something.. its okay if you say n-no.." lloyd stuttered and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"So um.. i know we only met the other day but uh.. do you want to go on a d-date..?" Lloyd spoke quietly while fiddling with his hands.
He was unsure if she would say yes,
She probably wouldnt he thought to himself.

"Yes! I um i actually wanted to ask you too.." sophie chuckled with a blush.
Lloyd mouthed an exited yes and did a little happy dance.

They discussed a time and place for their date and hung up with a 'see you later'.
Lloyd thought for a moment on who to ask for help this time.

'Kai, he definitely knows how to look nice' he thought to himself while approaching kai's room.
He knocked and entered, shutting the door behind him so nobody else could hear.
There was no way they would leave him alone if they knew he was going on a date.

"Hey lloyd whats up" kai asked while scrolling through his phone on the bed.

"Im going on a date and i need help on what to wear" lloyd muttered quickly while staring at the floor.

Kai sat up and his jaw dropped slightly, putting the phone down he stood up and walked over to lloyd.

"Your going on a date?!" He shook lloyd with a smile.

"Shhh not so loud kai!" Lloyd pushed his hands off and sat on his bed.

"Oh sorry, its just so exiting! I can definitely help you out let me grab something from the closet hold on!" Kai practically ran to his clothes, despite being older he and lloyd were similar in size.
They often borrowed eachothers clothes when they wanted a change of looks.

Lloyd shook his head with a smile and waited to see what kai would pull out.

"Uh where are you going? Formal dinner or casal walk or something?" Kai asked popping his head out of the seemingly endless supply of clothes.

"Formal dinner" lloyd answered with a blush.

"Ooh fancy" kai smirked as he pulled out an outfit.

"Here, a formal shirt, some trousers and a jacket" kai handed the items to lloyd who inspected them with a smile.

"There perfect thanks kai! Can i get ready in here so the others dont see? You can tell them for me when ive left so i dont get bombarded with questions.." Lloyd asked and kai nodded telling lloyd he would grab him some shoes.

Lloyd got into his outfit and inspected himself in the mirror.
The shirt was a simple white button up shirt.
The trousers were dark green and actually fit him perfectly.

'I swear these are mine..' lloyd thought to himself trying to think when he had leant kai his smart trousers.

The jacket was black and similar to a blazer but it didnt have any buttons so it remained open.
Kai returned with the shoes, they were black loafers to match the jacket.

"Awh you look so handsome and grown up!" Kai ruffled lloyds hair and proceeded to take a photo of him.

"Hey dont mess up my hair, whats the photo for?" He questioned as he used a comb to neaten his hair again.

"To show the others, i know nya will want to see what you wore on your first date" kai smirked and walked lloyd to the door.

"Have a good time buddy! Remember compliment her and stuff!" Kai shouted as lloyd walked down the stairs.

"Thank you! See you later" he shouted back and disappeared down the mountain.

He sat at the table tapping his foot anxiously waiting for sophie to arrive.
His heart fluttered once he saw her walking towards him.

'Shes so beautiful..' he thought to himself with a blush.

She had on a pale green dress covered in little flowers.
Her hair was tied in a bun and as he expected her blue eyes stood out the most.
He felt he might drown in her eyes.

"Hi, you look nice" he greeted her and pulled out her seat.

"Thank you! You look nice too" she replied and sat down.

They each ordered a water and began to talk.

"So what have you been up to?" Lloyd asked with a smile.

"The normal, exploring. The other day we went to an island nobodys been to before! There was loads of cool paintings in caves and tons of pretty plants!" She told lloyd enthusiastically while he nodded along.

"Thats so cool, did you find any people?" He asked as the waters arrived.

"No sadly but we didnt have time to explore the whole island so there might have been some tribes somewhere" she sighed and took a sip of her water and picked up a menu to decide on what to eat.
Lloyd nodded and also began to look at a menu.

"Hello may i take you orders?" A waiter asked kindly, smiling at the pair.

"Yes can i have the chicken stir fry please?" Sophie replied and handed the menu ti the waiter.

"Of course ma'am for you sir?" He asked lloyd and smiled again.

"Can i have the spicy noodles please but not too spicy just a little bit?" He asked and the waiter nodded and wrote on his notepad.

"It shouldnt take too long" he said as he walked towards the kitchen.

"You like spice then?" Sophie asked turning to face lloyd.

"Yeah, i didnt when i was younger but kai, the red ninja, loves spice like an insane amount so i got used to spicy food" lloyd chuckled remembering the first time he tried kai's food when there was some leftover.
He felt like he could breath fire for a good hour after that.

"Yeah i love spicy food, but i dont have it all the time" she smiled at him and had some more of her drink.

After a few minutes more of talking the food soon arrived and the pair began to eat.
Between mouthfuls they spoke more about things they might have in common and each told stories of adventures they had been on.

Eventualy the meal came to end and it was time to pay and leave.
Lloyd shook his head as sophie began to reach for her money.

"No no ill get it" he smiled as he pulled out his own money and placed it on the table with the receipt.
She thanked him and stood up with him, ready to leave.

"I had a great time thank you!" She smiled at him and gave a quick peck on his cheek.
His heart fluttered and his smile grew wide.

"T-text me later if you want to" he stuttered, the butterflies were back again.
She nodded and smiled as she got into her car and drove away.

He got into his own car and drove back to the monastery.
There was something about her that made her so different to harumi or akita.

'Is this love?... or is it just because she's so pretty.. and kind, and funny and.. ok lloyd stop rambling your turning into jay' he thought to himself as he drove.

Once he arrived he climbed up the hundreds of steps with a sigh, they really needed to get an elevator or something..

"Soooo how was it!" Jay beamed as lloyd walked through the door.
He noticed everyone was in the room eagerly waiting for details.

He shook his head with a smile and sat down to tell them all.

It had been a few weeks since the date, they still called every night and she was constantly on his mind.
They had even been on a second date to the theme park, Jays suggestion.
Lloyd was beginning to realise he wanted to be more than just a date and was building up the courage to ask.

He hadnt told the others, he figured he would tell them after.
Lloyd told them he was going out for a while and left in his car.
He stopped to grab some flowers along the way and arrived at her house.
He knew where she lived as he had dropped her home after the theme park.

Lloyd knocked the door and waited nervously.
He knew if he let his nerves get the better of him he would never ask, but he couldnt wait anymore.

"Hi lloyd! What brings you here" she answered the door cheerfully and invited him in.
He handed her the flowers with a smile and she thanked him, putting them in a vase of water.

"Uh i need to ask you something" he spoke with a shaky breath as she placed the vase down.
She nodded waiting for what he was going to say.

"So um.. i want us to be more than dating.. i really like you sophie.
Do you want to be my girlfriend..?" He asked nervously, he was worried that she would say no, that he was moving way to fast.

"Yes! Ide love that!" She answered happily and nodded her head.
He sighed in relief and smiled widely at her.

"Do you want to stay and watch a movie? I have nothing planned... boyfriend" she offered with a chuckle.

"Yeah that would be nice... girlfriend" he chuckled back and sat nexto her on the sofa.

"They are probably going to ask tons of questions, oh and I'll apologise in advance for jay.
He is a real chatterbox" lloyd chuckled as they walked up the monastery steps.

They had been a couple for a few weeks now and he was introducing her to the others.
She had a mixture of nerves and exitement.
Afterall its not every day you meet the famed ninja.
She still couldnt believe her boyfriend was lloyd garmadon.

They walked through the door and were greeted straight away by everyone.

"You must be sophie! Im nya, ive heard alot about you" she smiled and shook sophies hand.

"Nice to meet you nya! Ive heard alot about you too" she smiled back at nya and looked back at lloyd who was standing nexto kai.

The others introduced themselves one by one and sophie's nerves soon dissapeared.
She couldnt wait to chat more with nya, even though she was in a team at the explorers club she didnt have any friends her age.
They were all older, alot older.

They all spoke for what felt like hours about various things.
'They are all so kind' she thought to herself as jay was telling a joke about cole.

Lloyd sat nexto her and slowly their fingers intertwined while they listened to the others talking.

Months had passed and lloyds feelings for her had only grown stronger.
He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and of course had no idea how to ask.

He went to jay again for advice, worried that it was way to soon to be thinking this way.

"No lloyd as i said, if shes the one you'll know, i wanted to propose to nya for ages but i was to nervous to pull it off" jay chuckled and patted lloyd on the shoulder.

"Have you got a ring? If not i know a shop that sells really pretty ones" jay asked lloyd who pulled something out of his pocket.

"Yeah.. my mother gave it to me it was hers from my father" lloyd nodded and showed jay the ring.
It was a silver ring with a beautiful pale blue diamond sat on the top.

"Its so pretty! The diamond matches her eyes too!" Jay exclaimed and handed it back to lloyd who was nodding eagerly.

"Yes its perfect, but i have no idea how to ask.. and its only been a couple of months are you sure its not too soon..?" He replied to jay and placed the ring back in his pocket.

"If shes the one, then ask her. The worst that will happen is she says no and you just wait a while longer.. but that wont happen! I guarantee she says yes" he nodded confidently to lloyd.

They spoke a bit more on how to ask perfectly and where to do it.
Once lloyd came up with the location he thanked jay and told him he will let him know how it goes.

He opened his phone and began a text,

L- hey can we go for a walk at the beach later? I need some fresh air-

S-yes of course, ive been fancying a walk actually-

L- okay see you there at 6?-

S- see you then!-

He closed his phone and nervously began to plan what to say.

The pair walked hand in hand along the beach, watching as the sun retreated behind the horizon leaving a trail of red and orange in the sky.
Lloyd was feeling pretty anxious but he didnt let it show, he didnt want to give it away.

Once they reached a spot that was completely empty they stopped and turned to face the ocean to admire its beauty at sunset.

With a shaky breath he got onto one knee and pulled out the ring, waiting for her to turn around.
Once she turned to him she gasped and brought her hands over her mouth.

"Sophie, every time im with you or think about you all i feel is butterflies and an excitement that i cant shake.
i want to spend the rest of my life with you by my side as my wife.
I know we only met months ago but sophie.. will you marry me?" Lloyd spoke while staring into her eyes that matched the diamond perfectly.

"Yes! Oh my god yes!" She jumped excitedly with happy tears forming.

Lloyd placed the ring on her finger and she pulled him in for a kiss.
Their lips melted together perfectly and lloyd brought his hand up to hold her cheek.

"I love you" he whispered to her once they parted.

"I love you too" she replied and hugged him.
She couldnt believe she was actually engaged.

Finally the day of the wedding had arrived.
The couple were massively anxious but also exited to start this new chapter in their life.

Nya was helping sophie get ready and the two were chatting away excitedly while doing their hair.

"I cant believe lloyd is getting married! He's still that little boy in my head" nya chuckled and handed sophie a hair tie.

"What was he like as a child?" Sophie asked as she continued her hair, wanting it to be perfect for her wedding.

"Oh haha he was bratty at first, he used to steal candy.. he released all the snakes, then we caught him and he started to stay with us.
Then began the pranks he would pull on us..
But eventually he became sweet and a very cute little guy" nya spoke remembering little lloyd.

Sophie laughed apon hearing how naughty he was as a child, she found it funny that the famed green ninja was once just a bratty child.

In another room, lloyd was getting ready with the help of the guys.

Jay was helping him with what to say,
Cole was helping him with his hair,
Kai was helping him with his suit,
Zane was helping him with his nerves.

He was grateful to have all of their help, without them he would be lost on what to say, do, or even wear.

Once they were all in their suits kai tied lloyds bow tie and patted him on the shoulder.

"Awh he looks so handsome!" Jay said happily.

"Yeah he grew up too fast" kai pretended to cry and lloyd playfuly shoved him.
They all laughed and walked to the alter to wait for the ceremony to start.

Everyone began to take their seats, each of their familes were there and their friends.
Misako and supprisingly garmadon were both there.
Arin, sora, wyldfire, frak and riyu were there.
Sophies explorers club team were there,
And of course her mother.

Soon everyones attention was drawn to nya walking towards the front as the ceremony started.
Not long after her, sophie began her walk down the aisle, eyes locked on lloyds the entire time.

"You look beautiful" he whispered to her as she stood nexto him and she smiled in return.
They had chosen zane to be the wedding officiant for them, he had happily accepted.

"We gather here today to witness two soulmates coming together in harmonious union.
With an everlasting connection forged by their love for eachother" zane started as the pair held hands and smiled.

"The bride and groom have prepared vows they would like to share to eachother" he smiled and invited them to begin their vows.

Lloyd took a shaky breath and began his vows.

"I vow to always be there for you and let our adventures together continue.
I promise that i will always protect you and
my love for you will remain strong until we part from the earth" lloyd spoke clearly while looking directly into her eyes.

"I vow to always cherish you and love you unconditionally, through good times and bad, i will remain true. I promise to bond with you not just as a lover, but as a best friend" sophie said with a smile, her eyes glistening.

Both of their mothers were wiping tears from their eyes, all of their friends has massive smiles on their faces witnessing this beautiful moment.

"Do you, sophie, take lloyd as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, in sickness and health, for as long as you shall live?" Zane asked, smiling at sophie.

"I do" she replied and smiled at lloyd.

"Do you, lloyd, take sophie as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, in sickness and health, for as long as you shall live?" Zane turned to lloyd.

"I do" lloyd grinned.

"Then by the power invested in me i pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride"
Zane finished and smiled at the pair.

Lloyd brought her in for a kiss as everyone began to clap.
They couldnt wait to start their life together.

Chapter Text

Lloyd yawned and got out of bed, the sun still hadnt risen as it was 5am.
He was always the first to wake up, making sure training got completed and that everything was in top shape.

He sent a good morning text to sophie who was away on an exploration for the week.
He missed her when she was away but he knew she had to go.

For a few weeks now he had been sensing something he hadnt sensed before.
The feeling was especially strong when he was closest to nya.
Ever since becoming the master of life he could sense all life, but nyas was different at the moment.
It was strangely stronger but he couldnt make sense of why.

It was only when he saw her run to the bathroom to throw up that he realised what this could mean.
He didnt want to ask yet, incase they already knew and were keeping it a secret, or incase he was wrong.
Lloyd decided he would keep a closer eye on her for now.

"Sick again?" Jay asked as he joined her in the bathroom to pat her back.

"Yeah.. i must have eatan something weird.." she sighed while flushing the toilet.

"Yeah we did eat out last night maybe it was that?" Jay suggested and helped her up from the bathroom floor.

The pair walked back to bed to relax for a bit before the team was called to get up at 6am.
Nya soon fell back to sleep and jay scrolled through his phone.

It felt as if it had only been five minutes when lloyd came and knocked everyones doors for training.
They got up and noticed lloyd was smiling at them, more than usual.

'Strange..' jay thought to himself while walking towards the training course.
They all began their morning training as usual to keep in shape,
Afterall a villain could try to take over at any moment.
----------------------

"Nya are you sure your ok? Its been a week and your still sick.." jay asked worriedly while stroking her hair.
She nodded and reached for her glass of water.

"Hey lloyd.." jay waved as lloyd entered the games room to watch tv with them.

"Hey guys, still sick nya?" He asked his 'sister' who had her head in jays lap.

She nodded and he couldnt help but smile, he knew what this meant and of course he was happy for them.
The feeling from her life signal had gotten stronger, he could sense three lives coming from nya.
Herself and two others.
'They are going to have their hands full' he thought to himself.

"Uh why are you smiling? Im sick thats not a good thing" nya questioned once she saw lloyds smile.

He looked around to make sure nobody else was listening before deciding to tell them what he could sense.

"So you know i can sense all life now right?" He started, they nodded confused.

"Well.. i can sense two new lives coming from you nya.." he told her and waited for them to realise what he had said.

"Uh what.." she said shocked, mouth slightly ajar.

"Wait.. two?!" Jay shot up and looked between nya and lloyd.
He was both worried and exited.

"You mean to say.. im pregnant..? With twins?" Nya asked slowly, trying to wrap her head around the idea.

Lloyd nodded with a smile and proceeded to chuckle at the looks on their faces.

"I cant believe were going to be parents" nya started with a smile, jay nodded along excitedly.

"Yeah and to twins!" He exclaimed and hugged her before getting up to hug lloyd aswell.

"Thanks for telling us lloyd, i was all worried that something was seriously wrong, well im still worried cus now nya is growing twins, shes gonna feel sick still, be all moody, all tired, and then shes got to-" jay stopped his ramble and looked at nya who had realised the same thing he had.

"Ok im not looking forward to THAT part.. but i have months to prepare" she shuddered at the thought.

"Yeah i sense that you are around 3 months..? But maybe go see a doctor for better accuracy" he chuckled before telling them he would leave them alone with their exiting news.

Jay and nya had just returned from their gender scan.
They decided they would wait until they knew what they were having before telling the others.

"So how do we tell them?" Jay asked, holding nyas had as they walked towards the monastery.

"I guess we just say it" she shrugged.

They entered and called for everyone to gather in the living room for an announcement.
Everyone came pretty quickly as they were curious as to what they wanted to say.

"So um we have some news.." jay chuckled nervously and glanced around the room at everyone.
They were all sat eagerly waiting.

"Im pregnant.. with twins" nya told everyone and anxiously waited for a response.

"That amazing news!" Cole started and stood up to hug the couple.

"Congratulations you two" zane smiled and also hugged them.

They looked over at kai who had yet to say anything.
They noticed him wiping a tear from his eye.

"Kai whats wrong?" Nya asked worriedly.

"Y-your growing up" he sniffled and stood up to hug her.
He turned to jay and smiled.

"Im so happy for both of you, your going to be great parents" he said while patting jay on the shoulder.

"Oh we also know the genders we actually just found out" jay added and everyone looked at him waiting for the reveal.

"A girl and a boy" nya smiled, she was happy that she had one of each.

Everyone congratulated the couple and the hugs started again.

"Jay i think its time!" Nya shouted for him from the bathroom.
Everyone shot up in panic.

"Ok calm down, get the bags we'll start the car" cole told jay who was pacing around anxiously while nya put her shoes on.

"Bag! Right yeah ok bag!" He replied and sprinted of to the bedroom for the hospital bags.

Kai guided nya down to the car,
Lloyd followed behind for additional support.

They had to keep stopping every time a contraction hit her.
Kai wished he could help his sister, she was in so much pain.

"Ugh these stairs are endless! I hate them!" She said angrily as they finally reached the bottom.
They got into the car and jay, cole and zane followed closely behind.

Jay of course was anxiously rambling as they drove.
For once the others didnt roll their eyes at his ramble, they were all nervous for nya.

"Jay shut up! Drive faster zane!" Nya shouted from her seat, pain hitting her again.

"Do not worry nya, we will be there momentarily" zane replied and sped up a bit, ignoring the speed limit for a change.

Kai, lloyd, cole and zane waited anxiously in the waiting room.
Jay and nya had been in the delivery room for around 6 hours now.

Kai was pacing around, nervous for his little sister.
He was worried something would go wrong but he tried not to think about it.

Eventually a doctor appeared with a smile and approached the anxious group.

"Mother and babies are all completely fine! She has said to let you all in" the doctor smiled and led them to the room.

Kai immediately went to nyas side while the others waited near the door, not wanting to intrude.

"Are you okay sis?" He asked and stroked her hair comfortingly.
She nodded in reply and looked over at jay who was waiting to show off the babies.

"Guys we want you to meet, jenny and nathan walker" he smiled proudly and walked over with the two newborns in his arms.
He handed one to kai and one to lloyd.

"Hello there.. im your uncle kai" he smiled at the baby in his arms.

"Awh he looks just like jay as a baby" cole spoke as he was handed the baby lloyd was holding.

"And this one looks just like nya" kai smiled up at nya.

"So thats jenny, and thats nathan" jay pointed to each baby so the others knew.

After a while of everyone saying hello to the babies and checking on nya they decided to head home so nya could rest.

"Congratulations both of you" kai said and gave each of them a hug.

It had been a month since the birth of the twins and they had settled into home perfectly.

Jenny was looking more like nya everyday, she definitely had jays eyes and hair though.
Nathan looked just like jay, he had little freckles beginning to appear.
He had nyas eyes and hair.
Each twin had features from both parents.

"I thought babies cried all the time?" Cole asked as he held nathan while jay prepared a bottle.

"Eh not all babies, we were lucky and got two that dont cry much" jay chuckled and took nathan from cole to feed him.

Nya walked in with jenny and sat down nexto kai on the sofa.

"Here sis give her to me, you go relax for a bit" kai offered with a smile and nya handed over little jenny.

"Thank you kai, i didnt know you were so good with babies" she laughed as she went to get a glass of water.

"Well i did raise you, and before that i always helped mom and dad with you" kai shrugged and booped jenny on the nose.

"She definitely has you hair jay" lloyd spoke as he took a seat nexto kai.

"Yeah i always thought babies were bald to begin with, but shes always had so much hair.
Nathan is nearly bald though" jay replied and grabbed a bottle for jenny who had started to fuss.

Pretty soon both babies had fallen asleep and jay placed them both into their bassinets.

"They sleep so much, im jealous" cole chuckled quietly.
This was probably their 4th nap of the day.

"Yeah they sleep alot at this age, its quite literally eat sleep and poop" jay laughed once he returned into the room.

He washed the bottles so they were ready to use later and took a seat nexto the others.

"Anyone want to play a game? We probably have an hour" jay asked and reached for the remote.

They all agreed and began to play with the volume low, not wanting to disturb nya or the babies from their sleep.

This past month had changed their lives for the better, everyone loved having two little babies in the monastery.
Cole and kai especially loved it.

"Cole, kai, one of you should have a baby next! Jenny and nathan need a little buddy! And you both have such good paternal instincts" jay chuckled as he tapped on the remote buttons.

"Skyler doesnt want a baby just yet" kai replied with a laugh.

"Yeah and i dont even have a girlfriend!" Cole added.

"Ooh so you DO want babies?" He smiled playfuly as he won the game.
They shook their heads and laughed.

"Have to see what the future holds i guess" kai shrugged.

There had been two babies in the monastery for six months now.
Zane had began to want his own to add to the little group, but he was unsure on how to do that.
Of course two nindroids couldnt have a baby the normal way, and if they built a baby it would stay a baby forever.

He and pixal decided to ask cyrus borg if there was anything else they could do before considering adopting.

"Ah pixal, zane, its so nice to see you!" Cyrus exclaimed as they entered the tower.

"Hello doctor borg, we have something to ask" zane began.

"We would like to have a baby but we are unsure how exactly we can as nindroids do not age the same as a human" pixal added with a sigh.

Years ago she wouldnt have been thinking about this, she didnt have many emotions until she met zane.
He had proven that a nindroid could be more than just an emotionless robot.

"Hm i have been thinking about creating a new line of nindroids that age just like humans, to make them even more realistic! Perhaps i could make them as young as babies.. it will take some testing" cyrus borg replied to the pair who had begun to smile.

"That is most amazing! Aging nindoids!" Zane exclaimed with an exited grin.

"Yes! I will put your idea to the test, if it is possible i shall let you know" borg smiled with a nod.
Truthfully he was hoping to have his own little nindroid, pixal was like a daughter to him but she had changed and didnt really need him as much anymore.

Zane and pixal left to go and tell the others of this possible good news.
----------------------

"A baby nindroid! Thats so cool!" Jay enthused upon hearing the news.

"Yes it would act just like a normal baby, it wouldnt get smart until becoming a child" zane beamed happily.

Pixal picked up baby nathan who was crawling around her feet and smiled at him.
He was looking more and more like jay everyday.

"Little nathan, you might have a friend around here soon" she said exitedly as he cooed in her arms happily.

"D...d..da" jenny started, using all of her effort trying to say a word.

"Awh jenny, you trying to say dada? Such a smart girl" jay smiled proudly as he picked up the infant.
She smiled at him and squealed in exitement.

Even though she looked most like nya, jay's hair had definitely passed down to her.
The little girl had alot of brown curls that covered her head, almost like a mini afro since she hadnt had her first haircut yet.

"I bet the twins would love a friend" nya smiled at the infants and then to zane and pixal.

The nindroids nodded and began to talk about what gender they would want and what names.

"So you two, the machine is ready. You just imput the code, design and everything else and it will create your baby" cyrus borg spoke confidently.

It had taken many weeks but he had managed to create a special type of nindroid that would start as a newborn baby, and age the same as a human.
It would even hit milestones around the same age as a human baby.
The only real difference was that it was made of metal, and that it required no diaper changes.

The two shared an exited look and stepped towards the machine to create their child.
The machine buzzed as they pressed start and began to work instantly.

After a few minutes of silently waiting, the sound of crying filled the room.
Zane and pixal eagerly walked over to where a baby should have appeared.
And there he was.
A tiny newborn nindroid.

He had zanes hair with lighter streaks, pixals face pattern but blue instead of purple and turquoise eyes.

"Hello...jack" zane smiled and picked up the infant.

They had chosen the name jack after a character from one of the twins books about jack frost.
The name was perfect for a future master of ice.

He handed the baby over to pixal who couldnt wait to meet her son.

"He is even more amazing than I imagined" she smiled widely as he looked into her eyes.

"He is so cute!" Kai exclaimed upon seeing the baby nindroid.
The others all gathered to greet the new family member.

"Jenny, nathan, meet jack!" Nya told the two infants.

Of course they had no idea what she meant but they still reached out curiously trying to touch the baby.

"We need a photo of all the babies together!" Jay beamed.

Cole nodded and went to get his camera.
He instructed nya, jay and the twins to stand on one side, zane, pixal and jack on the other.

"Okay three, two, one... smileee" cole said while he held up a baby rattle to get their attention.

The picture was great, the twins both smiled at the camera and little jack was looking directly at it.
They all agreed to always do a family baby photo should any more babies arrive into the family.

Jack slowly fell asleep cuddled up into zane who hadnt stopped smiling all day.

Cole was on a late night walk, the babies of the monastery were very restless tonight so he decided to escape for a while.
His feet had taken him all the way to the city, it must have been a while he decided.

The city was so calm at night, nobody walking around, no cars and no noise.
Just silence.
Until there wasnt.

"Hey leave me alone!" A womans voice cut through the silence of the night.

Some male voices could be heard laughing, thats when cole decided to step in.

"Hey you heard her! Leave the lady alone" coles voice echoed into the dark alley.

"Woah its a ninja lets split!" One of the three men spoke.

"Sorry miss, heres your bag miss.." the smallest of the men handed the bag back and was grabbed by one of the others.

"Ugh come on tommy stop being nice your supposed to be a theif.." the larger man called out as they all disappeared down another alley.

"Are you okay miss?" Cole asked the lady once confirming the men had left.

He was a little bit upset that he didnt have to fight any of them but at least the lady was okay.

"Yes thank you mister ninja" she smiled at him kindly.

'Woah shes kinda hot..' cole thought to himself.
She had tanned skin, deep brown eyes and hair blacker than the night.

"So uh ill walk you to wherever your goin, for safety, if you want" he offered with a smile.
She agreed happily and the two began walking.

"Thank you, im mylie by the way" she replied.

"Im cole, although you probably know that" he chuckled.
She nodded and laughed in response.

As they continued to walk the streets of ninjago they spoke alot, talking about favourite music, favourite films and stuff like that.
They discovered they actually had quite a bit in common.

After a short while they arrived at her destination, her house.

"Well thanks for walking me home.. if you want..you can come in?" Mylie offered before he started to walk away.

Cole hesitated for a moment but then thought about returning to crying babies and decided he would rather go inside for a bit.

"Nice house" he smiled while glancing around.
There was various posters scattered across the wall showing different bands and singers that mylie had told him about.

"Thank you, take a seat if you want" she sat down and pat the empty space nexto her.

They began to talk a bit again and as the minutes ticked away the feeling between them started to change.

"I just wanted to thank you again for earlier" she flashed another smile at cole who was now sat with his arm over the sofa behind her.

"Your welcome" he replied and for a moment their eyes locked.

Coles heart began to race as the distance slowly began to close until their lips connected.
At first it was awkward and slow.
But pretty soon a hunger for more came over the pair and the kiss began to speed up.
The arm that was once resting behind mylie was now embedded into her hair, pulling her closer into the kiss.

Her hands traveled to his shoulders and then down his chest, tracing over his muscles with a slow finger.

Cole hesitated for a moment, feeling where this was going to go.
'Is this a good idea.. we just met..' he questioned himself as her tongue began to brush his hips.

'Oh whatever.. its not like anybody will know..' he thought to himself with a grin.
He decided to stop her to make sure she was thinking the same as him.

"I just need to check..." he stopped for a breath, he had forgotten to breathe in their 'little' moment.

"Are we thinking the same thing.. about where this is going..?" He asked while panting slightly.

"I think so yeah" she smirked and gently pushed him back until he was led down.

He grinned as she climbed on top of him and connected their lips once again.
'This is going to be a fun night' he smirked to himself.

The following morning cole had woken up asleep on an unknown sofa, clothes missing.
As he woke up properly he remembered the events of the night before and felt a tinge of regret.
'I should know better than to do that the same night i met her..' he sighed and got dressed.

"Good morning" mylie called into the room as she heard him getting up.

"Morning, sorry if i was moving too fast, i wouldnt usualy get that into it just after meeting someone" he chuckled nervously.

"Its okay im not gonna complain" she shrugged with a smile.

They talked for a while before cole decided he should get home.
'I bet they are all worried about where ive gone.. i didnt even tell them i went out' he thought to himself with a smile imagining them getting all confused as to where he was.

They said their goodbyes and cole left, of course they had also given eachother their numbers.

"Guys? Im home!" Cole called into the monastery.

"Cole?! Where have you been you litterally vanished!" Jay exclaimed as the group approached him in the kitchen.

"Oh i went for a walk" he shrugged and grabbed a slice of cake from the fridge.
As he began to eat he was interupted by the team whispering and giggling.

"What?" He asked and furrowed his brows.

"Ohh you did more than go for a walk" jay chuckled and pat cole on the back.

"Yeah cole didnt you check your neck buddy?" Kai smirked and handed him his phone so cole could look in the camera.
They all laughed as coles face became nearly as red as kai's gi.

"Shut up.." he told them and retreated to his room to hide from the embarrassment.

Nearly 2 weeks had passed since they first met and they had become official.
They hadnt been on any dates yet but had decided to be a couple.

At first the others had told cole that he was moving to fast but he reminded them lloyd had litterally married sophie after only a year of knowing eachother.
They now teased both cole and lloyd.

Cole spent a couple of nights a week at mylies house just to relax, hang out or sometimes other things.

"Cole why dont you bring her round here?" Lloyd asked while cole got ready to leave.

Before he could answer he felt a sudden pain in his foot and looked down to see little nathan trying to take a bite out of his toe.

"Uh nathan.. im not food" he chuckled as he picked up the infant.
The twins were now 8 month old.

"She doesnt really like kids, so its easier to just go to hers i guess.." cole shrugged. "Yuck you need to be changed.." he held his nose and lloyd laughed before walking away.

"Jay nathan left a suprise for you! He also bit me again.." cole called for jay who came into the room with a fresh diaper and wipes.

"Oh sorry, he must be teething again.. he bit my finger earlier" jay sighed and lifted nathans lips looking for the culprit.

"Ah yeah new tooth about to make an appearance" he smiled and took infant out of coles arms.

"Well have fun with mister bitey, ill be back later on" cole waved as he left for mylies house.

"Ill be gone for probably a week at most, theres some crazy dude plotting something that we need to stop before he actually does it" cole sighed as he said goodbye to mylie.

They had been a thing for just over three weeks now, although it felt as if cole had known her alot longer.

"Oh ok, well see you when your back" she smiled and gave him a quick kiss before he had to leave.

"Bye!" He waved and got in his car to head to the new mission.

"Gosh that guy was nuts.. he actually wanted to try and turn everyone in ninjago into mice!" Jay said on the way back home.

"Yeah thats pretty much impossible.. i think they are taking him to a place that can help his mind out a bit" kai replied and shuddered at the thought of being a mouse.

"Guys im gonna pop into mylies to let her know were back, ill meet you at the monastery later" cole said as they approached ninjago.

"Okay, see you later! Dont have to much fun" jay laughed as he and kai drove away towards the monastery.

Cole pulled up to mylies and noticed a car parked right out front.
'Strange.. must be a neighbors or something i guess' he shrugged as he looked for somewhere else to park.

He walked inside as the door was unlocked and let out a gasp at the sight before him.
She was kissing another man.

"Excuse me?! Whats going on here!" He raised his voice so they could hear him clearly.

The two separated with a fright and turned to face the master of earth.

"Are you aware she is in a relationship? With me?" Cole questioned the man angrily.

"I-Im so sorry mister ninja! She said she was single!" The man stuttered and stood up to face cole.

"Thats okay you didnt know, please leave we have to talk" cole sighed and stepped aside to let the man past.

Once gone cole turned back to mylie who was looking annoyed about the interuption.

"So i leave for a few days and you cheat on me?!" Cole asked with a raised voice.

"Ugh it was just a kiss.. hardly cheating. Get over it." she rolled her eyes and lent over to pick up a magazine.

"Hardly cheating? Get over it?! No it was cheating and no i will not get over it mylie" he began to pace, his hands were shaking, not from anger, from the fact that she wasnt even pretending to care.

"Well what do you expect me to do when your away on silly missions.. wait? No thanks" she sighed and flicked the page on her magazine.

"Silly? Incase you dont know i help save this city all the time..the city you live in by the way!" Cole looked at her and scoffed at how she didnt even look up at him.
The others were right, he went way to fast into a relationship with someone he didnt even know.

"Were done." He said through gritted teeth, there were so many things he wanted to say but he knew better than to fight with someone not worth his time.

"Really? Because i kissed someone.. fine okay, your too sensitive cole" she finally looked up at him and saw the tears that had begun to fall from his eyes.

"Your actually crying? Why?" She laughed and shook her head.

"Because i loved you?" He choked out, the words sounded wrong to him now.
He had begun to love her, but it was clear she didnt feel the same.
He slammed the door and left before she could say anything else.

Chapter Text

Cole wiped his tears and entered the monastery, he didnt want the others to see him crying.
He walked into the kitchen to find something to eat as he hadnt had anything yet.

“Hey cole, have fun at mylies?” lloyd asked with a smile as he poured a drink.
He frowned when cole didnt respond and noticed how coles shoulders had slowly began to shake.

“Cole.. are you okay?” he approached cole and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Cole shook his head and struggled to keep the tears hidden.
He sighed and turned to face lloyd, he had to tell them eventually, better to get it over with.

“We..broke up” cole said with a sniffle.
‘Im supposed to be the strong one.. Why am i still crying?’ he thought to himself.

“Oh no, I'm sorry cole, what happened?” lloyd questioned and watched as coles face changed into a mix of sadness and anger.

“S..she was kissing another man..when i walked in” he stuttered and wiped the tears again, trying to appear strong.

“Thats awful! How could she do that?!” lloyd gasped angrily.
He was shocked to say the least, from what cole had said about her previously she seemed nice enough.
“I guess i shouldnt have got with someone i just met, if i had taken time to know her i wouldve she wasnt actually nice and it was all fake..” cole shrugged and began his search for dinner again.

“Well theres something we have in common i guess, harumi and mylie” lloyd chuckled trying to cheer cole up a little.
He did manage to get a small chuckle out of him before the others walked in.

“Cole you okay? You look like youve been crying” nya asked as she noticed his tear stained cheeks.

“Mylie cheated on him..” lloyd told them, understanding cole probably didnt want to go over it again.
They all gasped and instantly went over to comfort their brother.

He smiled as he was suffocated by a group hug, he knew he could always rely on them for comfort in difficult moments.

“Okay thats the twins asleep” jay sighed as he entered the living room.
He took a seat on the sofa and waited for kai to decide what film they would watch.

“While you guys choose a film ill go do the nightly patrol” lloyd said as he stood up.
Every night one of the ninja checked the perimeter of the monastery and also the police radio to make sure there was no danger.

He checked the radio first, all quiet thankfully.
Then he started to check the perimeter.
Lloyd stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a noise.
It sounded like crying but all of the babies were asleep now werent they?
He decided to check them all quickly since he was closer to their rooms.

‘Okay jacks fast asleep.. It must be one of the twins’ he thought to himself, making sure to be quiet.

As he entered the twins room he began to get confused, they were also fast asleep.

‘Maybe im hearing things’ he told himself mentally, afterall there were no other babies.

He stepped outside and heard it again, it was louder now.
Lloyd walked around trying to pinpoint where exactly this crying was coming from and discovered it was loudest at the gates.

He pulled them open and his jaw dropped as he spotted the tiny bundle on the step.
All he could see was a blanket, a note and a small tuft of black hair poking out.

“Shh ive got you, what are you doing here little one..wheres your parents” he said picking up the infant who instantly calmed down.

He read the note while comforting the newborn and gasped.
He needed to tell the others.

“Uh guys..” lloyd started slowly, unsure of how to say what he had just read.
“Woah where did you get that baby?” jay spoke up before lloyd could continue.

“She was on the steps.. Cole.. um theres a note for you” he handed cole the note and cole frowned clearly confused.
He began to read the note out loud so the others could hear.

“Hello cole, you might be wondering why theres a baby on your doorstep. Well shes yours, congrats..
I found out a few months after we broke up, i wanted to get rid of it but i was too far along apparently.
I dont want her, i already have a bad reputation because the guy i kissed told everyone i ‘cheated’ on a ninja.. A baby will just ruin my life even more.
Keep her, get rid of her, do what you want i dont care..
She was born at 5:59 pm and healthy, if that matters to you.
Dont contact me at all, she is yours now, mylie” cole read, his voice shaking with shock and anger by the end.

At first the nobody knew what to say, they didnt think mylie could get any worse.

“5:59? That was only a couple of hours ago..” nya spoke first and walked over to take the now fussing newborn from lloyd.

“Hey baby, lets get you sorted shall we?” she smiled at the tiny infant in her arms.
How could anyone just abandon their baby, especially one this young..

“You can use our stuff, the baby is due next month so we already stocked up” kai offered while placing a comforting hand on coles shoulder.
“Thanks kai, ill go make her a bottle shes probably hungry” jay said while going to find kai’s supply of newborn formula.
Nya took the baby to get a clean diaper and put her in some of jennys old clothes.

Cole was completely shocked, he had a daughter? And mylie just tossed her away like she didnt matter?!
So many thoughts were running through his head.

Lloyd, kai, skyler, zane and pixal stood around him, ready to offer comfort.

“I cant believe anyone would do that, its so cold outside tonight aswell..” skyler said sadly.
Her and kai were execting their little one next month and she couldnt imagine leaving her child on a cold doorstep.

“Cole, shall i contact police? That can be classed as neglect and of course abandonment" Zane asked, even as a nindoid he was still feeling a rage building because of mylie.
He decided she should be held accountable for her actions.

“Y..yes do it, i cant believe she did that.. What if we werent here?! She would have.. Its so cold out there..” cole balled his shaky fists.

“Are you going to keep her?” kai questioned.

“Yes. yes i am, she isnt being failed by two parents.” cole replied, his mind was made up as soon as he read the note.

Jay and nya returned with the baby and approached cole with a smile.
“Shes hungry, if you wanted to try feeding her?” nya offered the baby to cole who carefully took her from nyas arms.
Jay handed him the bottle.

“Hello little one.. Im your daddy” cole smiled with teary eyes, he had always wanted a child.
Although he never imagined this would be how he got one.

“Do you have a name for her?” jay asked while smiling at the newborn who was hungrily guzzling her milk.

Cole nodded and his mind went to an image of his mother, he had always decided if he had a daughter she would be named after her.

“Lilly” cole smiled softly as little lilly looked up at him with her big brown eyes.

“Welcome to the family lilly” lloyd beamed at the newest member of the family.

Chapter Text

It had been a month since lilly had arrived, making the baby count go up to four.
Another was due any day now, kai and skylor were having a baby boy.
It was a shock to the couple as they werent thinking about having kids just yet, but they were overjoyed.

“You sure your feeling okay? No pain? No baby on the way?” kai asked anxiously as skylor watched tv.
It was a couple days past the due date so kai was nervous constantly, knowing the baby could come at any moment.

“Ill say the same thing i said ten minutes ago, im fine. But i would really love some extra spicy noodles” skylor replied with a smile.

“Yeah thats definitely my son in there, extra spicy noodles are my thing” kai chuckled as he went to fetch some already prepared noodles.

“Uncle!” jenny shouted as she walked over to kai.
Her and nathan were both able to speak now, although not properly as they were only eighteen months.

“Hello jenny, you okay?” kai asked with a smile as he picked up his niece.
She nodded and hugged him.

“Jenny are you excited to have another baby here?” he questioned the toddler who was clinging onto his side.
After all he was the favorite uncle of the twins.

“Baby!” she squealed excitedly and pointed at skylor who was wolfing down her noodles.

“Yes im having a baby! Well done jenny” skylor grinned at her, jenny was already so smart just like her parents.

“Greeting everyone, jack has just woken up, want to play with jenny?” zane spoke to the room before turning his attention to little jack.

He nodded and pointed at jenny who was now on the floor playing with some building blocks.
The pair began to play while zane took a seat on the sofa with kai and skylor.
The quiet wouldnt last long, all the babies were waking up from their naps.

Pretty soon in came jay, nya and nathan who was refusing to leave nyas arms.
He had started to become shy, whereas jenny was the exact opposite, always happy to interact with others.

“Aw hes being shy, nya you were just like that always hiding behind someone until you got older” kai chuckled and waved at little nathan.

Finally cole entered with lilly, she was still pretty small as she was only a month old.
He placed her on the floor for her little moment of tummy time, this helped to build neck muscles so she can eventually hold her head up.

“Look at them all happy and cute” nya smiled at the group of babies filling up the room.

Lloyd and sophie were the only ones missing, they were out on a lunch date since she had been away on an exploration for a while.

Lilly began to fuss, not happy about being on the floor.
Cole reached down and picked her up for a cuddle, he had taken to being a parent very quickly and was doing great.
Lilly had already grown a massive bond with cole, if someone else held her for more than a few minutes she would cry until he appeared.

“Baby sad?” nathan asked and looked over at cole, despite being shy he could also speak well just like jenny.

“Shes just grumpy dont worry nathan” cole reassured the toddler who crawled across the sofa to sit nexto him.
He had gotten attached to cole since he was calm and quiet like nathan.

“Look at jack oh my gosh!” jay said excitedly and everyones attention turned to baby jack.
He was standing and attempting to take a step for the first time.

Everyone watched silently, not wanting to distract him and sure enough he took his first couple of steps before toppling over.
“Yay well done jack!” everyone clapped at him and he beamed happily at them.
“Jack walk!” jenny clapped at him before playing with her blocks again.

Zane smiled proudly at his son who had taken his first steps perfectly, he picked him up and took him to tell pixal who was repairing some vehicles.

“I hate to change the topic dramatically but.. The babys coming” skylor sat up and placed a hand over her aching stomach.
Kai immediately shot up to get the bags while nya helped her up.
Within minutes they had gotten into the car and were ready to leave.

“Let us know once he’s arrived! And good luck skylor!” nya shouted as the pair sped away.

“Kai youre going over the speed limit..” skylor grunted in pain as another contraction hit.

“Well he might come fast you never know!” kai said worriedly, still speeding to the hospital.

Once they arrived he assisted her in walking to the reception which took a while since she had to stop every time she felt a contraction.

“Hi she’s in labor!” kai spoke in a panicked tone once they got to the reception desk.
The nurse nodded and quickly called for a wheelchair and a midwife.

“He’s perfect isnt he..” skylor sighed happily as they held their newborn son.
He had a ton of hair on his little head, the same colour as skylors hair.

They had chosen the name aidan for the infant as it meant little fire, and they knew once he was born he would be a fire elemental.
The way to tell was the eyes, like for jenny she has little yellow streaks in hers the same as jay, aidan has little reddish streaks in his.

“He’s our perfect little flame.. Our little aidan” kai smiled at the infant who was fast asleep in his mothers arms.

Chapter Text

“I cant believe the twins are already two…” nya sighed with her head resting on jays shoulder.
Today was their second birthday, it was a lovely sunny day in june.

“I know.. I still remember when they were tiny little things..” jay agreed, it felt like yesterday that the twins were brought into the world.

“Guys the cake is ready!” cole called out, he had baked the cake for the twins since he was the cake expert.

They all gathered in the courtyard to sing happy birthday to the twins, they didnt really understand birthdays yet and were more interested in their new toys.
Jay and nya each picked up a twin and stood at the cake to sing.

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday jenny and nathan, happy birthday to you!” everyone sang as the twins beamed at the sudden mass of attention.

They blew out their candles after some encouragement and then everyone got a slice to eat.

Lloyd and sophie sat on the steps watching all the children playing and getting covered in cake.
Lloyd chuckled as the younger babies, aidan and lilly, practically rubbed the cake all over their faces.
They were only young and didnt have the concept of eating without making a mess.

“Hey uh ill be back i just need the toilet..” sophie mumbled as she stood quickly to rush to the toilet.

Lloyd followed, sensing something was wrong and waited outside the door.
Once she had gone quiet he knocked and was granted permission to enter.

“Your sick.. Oh soph come here..” lloyd knelt down to hug her, he knew she hated being sick.

“I..i dont know why.. I keep feeling sick lately, and more tired than usual..” she sighed and leant into lloyds side as they sat on the bathroom floor.

Lloyd began to think of the possibilities of why she could be sick and one idea rushed to the front of his brain.
He frowned for a moment, he had felt new life lately but with five little ones in the monastery he decided it was them.
But now he thought about it properly, it was strongest near sophie and she had been feeling unwell.

“Sophie..i..i think i know w..why..” he stuttered nervously, sure everyone else had kids and he loved them but having his own was different.
“I think your expecting..” he stated quietly, his voice was unsure yet the feeling was definite.

She looked up at him with teary eyes and a smile plastered across her face, ever since she was little she dreamt of having kids.
She had always wanted two kids as she felt that was the perfect amount.

“Your gonna be a mama..” Lloyd smiled and they hugged again, tighter this time.

“And your gonna be a papa..” she replied happily, maybe the sickness was worth it afterall.
They decided to keep it a secret for now, mostly because it was the twins birthday.

“You ready to tell them?” sophie questioned lloyd who was anxiously tapping his leg.
He couldnt understand why he was so nervous, all of them had already done this.

“Y..yeah lets go” he nodded and the pair went to find where the group had gathered.

“Um we have an announcement” lloyd rubbed the back of his neck and looked around at everyone.

“Im pregnant!” sophie exclaimed excitedly, she couldnt wait to tell everyone.
She was so happy.

“Oh my god, congratulations you two!” nya jumped up and hugged each of them.

“Awh congratulations!” jay added and also hugged the pair.

“Your gonna be great parents, congratulations” cole smiled.

“That is most exiting news!” zane beamed at the couple.

“Congratulations both of you! Finally everyone has a baby!” kai said with a chuckle and hugged lloyd.

Lloyds worries had instantly melted away, he was starting to feel excited about what was to come.

“Lloyd, I actually cant get enough of candy! I never liked it before..” sophie was confused, in fact she hated candy as a child.
She always preferred fruit and vegetables over sweet treats.

“Yeah lets just say as a kid, i was obsessed with it.. That obsession must have passed onto the baby” he chuckled and handed sophie another handful of candy.

The baby was due soon and everyone was excited, especially because all the other babies were hardly babies anymore.
They all missed the newborn age.

Aidan was now 14 months and his first birthday had recently passed, lilly was 15 months and already forming words, jack was 26 months or just over two and was speaking in small sentences, the twins were four months away from turning 3, they could talk full sentences perfectly, they were definitely smart.

It was a beautiful day in march, flowers were starting to grow, leaves on the trees were coming back, life was returning to nature.
And a new life was about to arrive.

“Lloyd something feels different.. I feel really uncomfortable..” sophie said slowly, trying to understand if it was time or not.

The first contraction hit hard, making sophie wince and bend over in pain.

“Okay its time yeah” she gasped and lloyd stood to help her.

“Lets get to the hospital, come on.. Breathe.. Its okay” lloyd said calmly, hoping to comfort her slightly.

“Its time?” cole questioned as he spotted the couple heading for the door.

Lloyd nodded and cole took the bag from lloyd so he could hold sophie up better.

“Okay heres the bag, good luck guys” cole smiled as he handed the bag to lloyd who was getting into the car.

“Lloyd..breathe, its gonna be okay” cole put an arm on lloyd, he could see that lloyd was panicking.
Lloyd nodded a thanks and began to drive.

“Okay you have a healthy baby girl!” the doctor called out as the baby arrived.

The sound of cries filled the room and the baby was handed to sophie.
Lloyd felt a tear roll down his face once he saw his daughter.

“Oh lloyd.. Shes beautiful” sophie smiled at the crying newborn on her chest.

He tried to hold his tears as he was handed the baby but he failed.
He was so happy.

“I like the name laila” sophie spoke softly as she watched lloyd holding the baby.

“Laila is a lovely name” he replied. “Hello laila..” he said with a warm smile.

“Lloyd come quick!” sophie called out from their bedroom.
He came running in fearing something was wrong.

“What is it?!” he said worriedly as he looked between his wife and daughter.

“Say it again laila” sophie smiled at the infant who was chewing on her own foot and getting drool everywhere.

“Pa…pa.. Papa!” laila squealed with a clap.
“Yes thats papa! And.. oh he’s crying” sophie clapped at her before looking back at lloyd.
She chuckled and shook her head, he always got emotional when their daughter achieved a milestone.

“Im just so proud” he sniffled and walked over to pick up laila for a cuddle.

Aidan

“Aidan please just one bite.. For daddy?” kai pleaded with the 2 year old.

It was always a mission getting the toddler to eat his vegetables.

“No! Yucky” aidan turned his head away and crossed his arms.

“Its not yucky its yummy, look mmm” kai took a pretend bite hoping to convince the little boy.

“No!” he refused again, this time he hit the spoon away sending vegetables all over kai.

“Daddy yucky!” he laughed and pointed at kai who sighed and turned his attention to skylor as she walked into the kitchen.

“Kai stop making a mess..” she took the spoon from kai and offered aidan some of the vegetables.

To kai’s surprise the toddler happily took the mouthful.

“What! He has you fooled, he just refused that!” kai exclaimed to skylor.

“Nonsense, my little angel would never..” she smiled and continued to feed the now giggling toddler.

Lilly

“Okay eggs please” cole asked lilly who happily retrieved the eggs left on the counter.

“Thank you princess, want to crack them?” he smiled and lifted her up so she could crack the eggs for their cake mix.

“Daddy i love cake..” she sighed with a smile as cole began to mix.

“So does daddy, thats why were making one” he replied and gave lilly the spoon to lick while he put the mix into the oven.

For a three year old she was pretty good at baking, she always passed the correct items to cole and helped with anything that was safe.

“Can we read a book?” lilly asked and pointed towards the library.

“Yeah we have to wait twenty minutes anyway, go choose one” he agreed as she skipped away to find her books.

He sat down and began to read the selected book, it was about animals on a magic island.

He always made sure to be very dramatic when reading, it was more fun that way.

After reading three books the timer began to ding and the pair practically ran to see their cake.

“Oh daddy it looks so yummy!” she clapped excitedly as the cake was placed onto a plate.

“Are you going to decorate it?” he asked, handing her the icing and sprinkles.
She nodded eagerly and took the icing and got to work.

Jack

By age four jack had already become very good at painting, he painted most days of the week.
He especially loved to paint his mother and each one was pinned to a board in the vehicle hanger where she often worked.

“Another painting jack?” zane smiled and examined the childs work.

“Yes father! Im painting you and mother this time” he replied and continued to paint.

“It looks amazing as always!” zane put his hand on jacks shoulder and watched him work.

After some time he had finished and ran to show it of to pixal.
Zane followed closely behind with a smile.

“Mother look!” jack offered her his latest artwork happily.

“Oh wow! It is beautiful jack!” she took the picture to examine it before adding it to the wall of paintings that was growing larger daily.

Nathan

“Mom im scared..” nathan said anxiously on the edge of the ‘hot tub’.

“Honey its just water, youll be able to control it one day” she chuckled and held his hand, guiding him into the water.

“But i cant swim!” he shook as he held onto nya.

“Oh your just like uncle kai.. Its okay, look hands out and kick!” nya showed him how to do it and promised to hold his back so he wouldnt sink.
He closed his eyes and tried.

“Your doing it!” nya exclaimed at her son who was finally swimming.

“Wow i am!” he said proudly and swam around in circles happily.

“When will i control water?” he questioned on his sixth lap.

“Well considering that your only five.. Not quite yet” she chuckled and drew a ball of water before dumping it on his head.

“Hey!” nathan laughed and splashed her back.

Jenny

“Dad what are you doing?” jenny asked as she wandered into her parents room.

“Oh hello jen, inventing a new mech for aunty pixal to build” he replied and patted his lap for her to join him. “Want to help?”

She nodded and grabbed a spare pencil from the desk.

“I think it needs a weapon there on its arms, maybe a gun or lazers?” she pointed to the arms with a smile.

“Good idea!” he nodded and let her draw the weapons of choice.
Jenny often helped out with inventing, just like her dad she loved it.

“Oh and there should be spikes on the feet so it can climb easier” she added as she drew spikes on the mechs feet.

“Great thinking! I never even thought of that” he smiled and worked out the perfect measurements for each item.

“Im a better inventor than you” she said proudly as she finished her designs.

“Uh nope not yet little spark!” he chuckled and began to tickle her.

Troublesome trio’s first prank

“Psst jenny..” aidan nudged his cousin and motioned for her to join him and laila in the playroom.

“I think we should do something amazing” he smirked and rubbed his hands together.

“Huh?” laila questioned and stood nexto jenny.
“I heard the grown ups talking about something called a prank, how uncle jay and my dad used to do them, we have to do something funny like a water balloon or booby traps” he grinned, explaining to the girls what a prank.

They both nodded along eagerly and started to come up with a plan.

“Okay laila, you get them to walk this way, jenny you hide around the corner with the glitter bombs, ill have some here” he went over their plan again before they got to work.

They had filled up some water balloons with water and glitter, knowing the adults hated glitter as it got everywhere.

“Guys come here! Please!” laila ordered kai, jay and lloyd into the playroom where the trap was set.

They thought the kids had probably made another blanket fort or a new drawing.

“Now!” aidan shouted as he jumped out of his hiding spot, jenny appeared behind them.

They threw the glitter bombs at them before running away giggling so they wouldnt get in trouble, leaving the adults covered in a mix of water and glitter.

“D..did we just get pranked by children..” jay stuttered out as the kids ran away.

“Uh yeah i think so..” lloyd said completely shocked.

“Oh no not glitter! Its in my hair!” kai shrieked as he noticed what exactly had been thrown at them.

“Were going to have trouble with those three arent we, they worked perfectly together to pull that off.. What will be next.. When?” jay started a ramble.
He and lloyd then rushed to the bathroom to rinse off the glitter before kai hogged the shower for hours.

“My beautiful hair..” kai said sadly whilst looking at himself in the mirror.

Chapter Text

It was a breezy night in autumn, everyone was fast asleep.
All except little laila.
She lay awake with a cheeky grin thinking about her plan for tonight.
‘I better wait a little longer to make sure the adults are sleeping’ she thought to herself with an impatient sigh.

While she waited she went over to her desk and pulled out some old scrolls to read, hoping to pass the time.

Despite being cheeky and mischievous, she loved reading her great uncles old scrolls.
She loved to learn, but also loved using the wise words on her father.

They adults always said she was like a perfect mix of wu and lloyd, wise but extremely mischievous.

Laila, aidan and jenny were the three ‘naughty’ kids of the monastery.
They were always pulling pranks on everyone, always cheeky, and always scheming together.
They had been given the name ‘troublesome trio’.

The ninja would always worried when those three were alone together, it usually meant something was going to happen.
Nathan, lilly and jack on the other hand were completely different.

Nathan was usually quiet and only got in trouble if the troublesome trio dragged him into their plans.

Lilly was very sensible and knew better than to join in, however if it was going to be really funny she would help out and watch it all unfold with a giggle.

Jack being a nindroid was smart and never joined in, he would just laugh at the end result of the pranks.
Pixal and zane made sure he had a perfect understanding of humor so he was more childlike.

Laila glanced up to her clock and saw the time was 11:32pm and decided it was go time.
She was doing something that she knew would get her into massive trouble, but she loved trouble.

She was planning to sneak into the nearest town in search of candy, she love it but was only allowed on birthdays.
That simply wasnt good enough, she decided.
And besides, who would know?

She put on her coat and shoes over her pajamas and crept through the hallway.

In his and jenny’s shared room, nathan began to stir.
He had suddenly become thirsty and decided he would get up for some water.
He glanced around the room to look for any obstacles, he didnt want to trip and wake up jenny.

Jenny was his favourite person and he didnt want to disturb her sleep.
Despite being very different, they had a huge bond.
They got on very well and did pretty much everything together, other than pranks and trouble of course.

He quietly moved some toys away from the beds so he could creep past his sister.
Her side of the room was always the messiest, toys and books scattered all over the place.
Nathans side was usually tidy and neat.

His side consisted of pale blue walls with bubble patterns painted onto them, a desk with paper and pencils, his bed with his teddy cuddlywomp junior, and some toys.

Jenny's side also had pale blue walls but with lightning strike patterns painted on, a desk with paper and pencils for her inventing, books and toys, and her bed.

Nathan successfully crept out of the room and began towards the kitchen.
Whilst making a drink he spotted something move in the courtyard and stopped dead in his tracks.

‘Somethings out there.. I should wake mom and dad! No no im supposed to be a ninja when im older i need to be brave..oh but what if its really scary..’ he mentally rambled to himself, he had inherited jays ramble genes.

He took a sip of his drink and put on a brave
face, hoping it was just an animal outside.
Quietly, he snuck towards the door and poked his head around to get a look at what was out there.

“Laila?!” he exclaimed once he recognised the dark figure in the courtyard.

“Oh nathan, hi!” she waved with a smile.

“What are you doing out here?” he asked and approached her.

“And why are you in a coat, where are you going? The adults are all asleep?” he continued.

“Shh ide like to keep it that way!” she shushed him and whispered, “im going to town..for candy!” she nodded, completely okay with the idea of walking around in the dark alone.

“On your own! I should wake your dad, maybe he can take you?” He replied and started walking to lloyds room.

“No! He.. he needs sleep, he has so many responsibilities..” she said, hoping that nathan would feel bad and not wake lloyd up.

“But you cant go alone..your only five, i..ill come” he said bravely, not wanting to let laila wander around on her own.
Since he knew she was out there, he felt responsible.

“Uh hows that better your only 8” she questioned, surprised at his offer.
Everyone knew nathan never did anything without jenny or an adult.

“well im older than you, i can keep you safe i suppose” he shrugged with a nervous smile.

“Okay you can come if you want, get your coat fast though i dont want to wait” she nodded as nathan crept indoors to get his coat and shoes.

Once he returned she smiled and they began down the steps.

Nathan took a hesitant look back to the monastery, hoping someone else would appear to tell them to get inside.
But no one did, they were the only ones awake.

Chapter Text

The two children wandered down the monastery steps under the cover of darkness, both were completely silent until they reached the bottom.
They hesitated for a moment, realising they had to walk through the woods that surrounded the monastery.
Neither of them had actually gone into the woods, especially at night and alone.

“Laila.. Its not too late to turn back..” nathan whispered worriedly, fiddling with his hands and glancing back up the mountain.

“Its just the woods, sure its dark but we have to be brave like our parents” she replied, she didnt want to admit that she was also scared.
The woods were darker than the opening they kids were standing in, obviously because of the tree cover.

“Yeah but what if theres a monster? Or a bear..” nathan took a step back, wanting to get to the safety of the monastery.

“Its okay, were future ninja’s in training! We cant be scared of silly monsters and bears” laila stated, putting on a brave face.
Each of the children had been taught the basics of ninja training, just in case they should ever need it.

“o..ok i suppose” he nodded slowly and followed laila into the dark trees.

They decided to practice their stealth as they walked through the woods, both scared that there could actually be something out there.
As they crept, nathan glanced around nervously.
He had the feeling something was following them.

“Laila wait.. t..theres something back there” he stopped her and pointed with a shaky hand.

She frowned and turned to look.
The shadow nathan had pointed out began to move towards them and both the children let out a scream before grabbing eachothers hands and running as fast as they could.

Laila looked over her shoulder and the mysterious shadow had gone.
Instead they were met with something else, light.

“Hey, I think were here!” laila spoke happily upon seeing the town they were headed to.
Nathan nodded and followed her, continuing to look over his shoulder.

The fear on their faces had been replaced with smiles as they approached a late night market that was set up in the town.

“Nathan look! Candy!” laila clapped and pointed towards the candy stall that was still lit up and full of different types of candy.

“Oh wow theres loads! Oh.. i didnt bring any pocket money..” he spoke excitedly at first before sighing.

“Its okay, were children of the famous ninja, we dont need to pay, we can..borrow it?”laila suggested with a grin and turned to face nathans horrified face.
“Borrow? You mean steal laila? Thats bad! Were supposed to be ninja not villains..” he replied to her, trying to convince her not to steal.

“We wont be villains for taking a couple pieces of candy nathan.. ill do it just distract the man” she pulled his arm and led him towards the stall.

“Oh were going to jail arent we..” he sighed to himself as laila snuck away while he began to approach the candy seller.

“H..hello sir! Nice evening isnt it!” he smiled at the man who returned a smile.

“Yes it is young man, where are you parents? Are you here alone?” the man questioned, suspicious why a small child was there alone given it was nearly midnight.

Nathan bit his lip and hesitated to think for a moment, he could tell the truth and get he and laila caught out, or do what laila,jenny and aidan had perfected.
Lie.

“Oh uh..they um went to another stall, it was boring so i wandered around to look at some other stalls?” he shrugged with a nervous smile.

“Ah ok, makes sense. Can i interest you in any candy? Its five coins for a bag” the man smiled kindly at nathan.

“Oh..i would love some but i didnt actually bring any money..i um spent it already” he replied, adding another lie in case the man got nervous why he was at a market with no money.

“Oh thats okay kid, take one. Its closing time soon anyway so theres some that still needs to be sold.” the man handed nathan a bag and patted him on the shoulder.

While nathan thanked the man he spotted laila’s arm reach for a bag near the edge of the table.

“Thank you so much sir! Your so kind!” he beamed at the kind man as laila crawled away with her bag.

“Your welcome, you be safe now” he replied and waved as nathan left to find laila.

The two went to a bench that was further away from the market so the man couldnt see them.
Each began to eat their candy, making sure to finish it all as they couldnt take it home.

“Laila the man gave us some for free, we didnt have to steal” he sighed as she grinned, proud of herself.

“Oh that was nice, well at least i know ide be a good ninja, i wasnt even noticed” she smiled triumphantly.
Nathan shook his head and continued to fill up on sugar.

“Well laila, i think we should head home.. Its getting really late now” he told her as he put his empty bag in a nearby bin.
She nodded in agreement and stood up beside him.

As they walked through the woods again, they spotted another shadow.
It was alot bigger this time.

“Run!” laila shouted as it turned its head towards them.
The pair instantly started running again through the dark, unable to see where they were going.
Nathan ran straight into a tree and fell to the ground.

“Ow!” he exclaimed and rubbed his face.

“Nathan! Are you okay?” laila questioned worriedly as she knelt beside him.

“Yeah im okay..just a small bump” he chuckled and stood up, “lets get going before whatever that was comes back..” he started as he looked around trying to figure out what way they had to go.

“W..wait, what way do we go?” nathan stuttered anxiously.
He realised they were deep in the woods, in the dark, and completely lost.

“Morning everyone” nya smiled as the others gathered around the table for breakfast.
They each greeted her and took their seats.

“Hey um has anyone seen laila? She isnt in her room” lloyd called out as he searched around the monastery for his daughter.

“I cant find nathan!” jay shouted from the twins room, not having heard lloyd.

Nya and sophie instantly stood up, both extremely concerned and joined the search around the monastery.

“Wait laila isnt here too?” jay asked lloyd in a panic, pacing between all the rooms.
Lloyd shook his head worriedly.

“We cant find them, they arent here!” cole shouted from one of the rooms, everyone was searching for the pair.

Jay and lloyd exchanged worried looks as they realised their kids were missing.

Chapter Text

“Perhaps we should check the security cameras? It could give some clues?” zane suggested as the group had confirmed for the fifth time that laila and nathan were definitely not at the monastery.

Everyone nodded and jogged to the hangar bay to check the cameras.
Zane quickly pulled up the footage from when everyone went to bed as that was when the children were last seen.

“There! 11:35pm in the courtyard talking” pixal pointed out as an image of the two small children popped onto the screen.

Zane stopped fast forwarding and let the security footage run on normal speed.
They watched as the children spoke before leaving the monastery in the night while everyone was asleep.

“T..they snuck out?!” lloyd stuttered surprisingly.

Nyas mouth gaped open, nathan was never naughty.
Without video proof she would never have believed that he had snuck out.

“We have to find them! What if they are hurt, or lost, or” jays ramble was interrupted by lloyd.

“Hey its okay, im sure they are fine.. Lets go look for them” lloyd said calmly, trying to conceal how worried he truly was.
Afterall laila was only five, nathan eight, there was no way they were okay.
It was morning and they had been gone for hours.
“How are you so calm!?” jays voice got louder as the panic levels were rising.

“Freaking out wont find them jay, we need to remain calm and find them, fast” lloyd motioned towards the door, wanting to get going.
Jay nodded and the pair rushed out the door, telling the others they would return with the missing children.

They paced around the bottom of the steps trying to find any traces of the children.
They walked around until they came to the forest that surrounded the monastery.

“You dont think..” jay started.

“They went into the woods…” lloyd finished, he glanced worriedly at jay who had started to fidget with his hands.

“Lloyd, I'm scared, its not safe out there! Especially at night” jay paced around at the edge of the forest, even he wouldnt dare go into there at night.
There was something spooky about it.

“Theyre brave, ill give them that..” lloyd sighed as he and jay entered the woods.

They wandered around the woods searching for any signs of the kids, for a while they couldnt find anything.

“Uh lloyd.. Are those..bear tracks?” jay pulled lloyd back and pointed to the tracks in the mud.

“We need to find them, and fast..” lloyds voice started to shake as his anxiety began to rise.
Two small kids in the woods with bears?
They could only think the worst had happened.

Their pace quickened as they desperately tried to find their lost children.

“Laila! Nathan!” lloyd and jay called out, hoping they would get a response.
They didnt.

“Lloyd they could be anywhere! What if they.. The bear..” lloyd cut jay off and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Jay im worried too, no im terrified, but were not going to find them if we think about the worst possibilities okay?” he replied.

Jay bit his lip and continued to look around, then he spotted something.

“Hey a town, maybe we can ask some people for help?” jay suggested, pointing at a nearby town.

They jogged over to some town folk and nervously asked if anyone had seen two kids alone.

“Please anyone? A little girl with blond hair and green eyes, and a little boy with black hair, blue eyes and freckles? Anyone?” jay pleaded moving from person to person.

“I saw a little boy with black hair and freckles, too dark to see his eye colour, he was getting candy from me, really polite little fella” a man approached them with a kind smile.

“That sounds like nathan, did you see where he went?” jay asked with a nervous smile.

“Towards the woods, i wouldve gone after him but i had to close up, and he said his parents were nearby..” the man looked over in the direction he saw nathan go.

“Thank you sir! Youve been a big help” lloyd smiled before he and jaw headed back to the woods in search of the kids.

“Since when does nathan lie?” jay asked with a chuckle, lloyd shrugged and looked around for clues.

“Look two sets of footsteps. Definitely childrens footsteps” lloyd pointed to the ground and jay nodded in agreement.

“Lets see where they lead” jay eagerly followed the path of footsteps.

After around ten minutes of running, they came to a halt.
The tracks had vanished.
Lloyd and jay looked around desperately for any further tracks but found nothing.

“Over there look, theres some sort of structure” jay jogged over to the old abandoned shed, praying the kids were there.

As they slowly opened the door, jays prayers had been answered.
Curled up under eachothers coats, were nathan and laila, fast asleep.
Both jay and lloyd let out a sigh of relief and knelt down to wake the children.

“Nathan? Laila?” they both whispered while softly shaking the children.

“Huh..dad?!” nathan shot up and latched onto jay in a tight hug.

“Pa!” laila shouted and also squeezed her father into a tight hug.

“What were you both thinking!” lloyd asked, trying to seem angry but he couldnt, he was just so glad they were both okay.

“It was my fault..i wanted to get some candy and nathan came along, refusing to let me go alone” laila spoke up, not wanting to get nathan into trouble for being brave.

“Nathan your going to make a good ninja one day” lloyd smiled and ruffled the boys hair.

“Hey whats wrong with your face? You have a bruise” jay asked his son, gently moving his face to have a better look.

“Oh he ran into a tree when we ran away from a shadow” laila giggled, they had both found it funny after a while.

Jay shook his head and smiled, “lets get you both home, your mothers are worried sick”.

“Wait how did you get candy anyway? You dont exactly have money” lloyd asked as the four of them headed back towards the monastery.

“Laila stole it, and i got mine for free” nathan shrugged.

“Oh laila..” lloyd facepalmed and sighed while jay chuckled and noted how similar she is to lloyd when he was little.
