Chapter Text
Sharlen stared out the window of her second-story bedroom. The day was cloudless, with a shining sky and blooming flowers. It was so stupid that the day when the monsters were resealed into Mt. Ebbot, the day was as perfect as anything. Sharlen looked upward. Her window gave her the perfect view of Mt. Ebbot. She thought she could see a prismatic light near the top of the mountain. That would be the twenty souls, being used to put the monsters back into their prison. She could remember the past 6 months with too much clarity. The blood, the death, the screams. What she remembered most, though, was those eyes. Those murderous eyes. Staring at her while he killed her family. Sharlen collapsed back onto her bed, thinking forward in time. She could almost see the chaos that would come when the barrier broke again. She just had to hope that she wasn't alive when that happened.
