The girl who bridges both worlds - That's not my name

Summary:

"That's Not My Name."

After Percy mysteriously disappears, Annabeth Chase vanishes from Camp Half-Blood too.

Sophie Foster knows her name.
At least, she thinks she does.
Because every time she closes her eyes, she remembers a different life. A different world. A different name.
Annabeth Chase.

And somewhere across that world, Percy Jackson is looking for her.

Meanwhile, across the world, an elf girl named Sophie Foster wakes up in a healing center with blurry memories of a boy with sea-green eyes.
The start of the Mark of Athena is totally changed—and two worlds are about to collide.

Chapter 1: SOPHIE

Chapter Text

A pair of greenish blue eyes - clear and endless, like the ocean shores of Atlantis. In fact, more mesmerizing than that. Then a voice rang in her mind. "Annabeth, where are you? Don't worry, I'll find you. Leo is making a machine to track you. It resembles a dead duck, but it's okay as long as it works... At least before the prophecy unravels... You need to come back to Camp Half Blood before Rachel blurts up the prophecy for the thousandth time." The voice was a boy's, and it had a teasing tone to the last part, but it seemed serious at the same time.

It kept repeating over and over. Sophie felt like she should understand, but she just couldn't. She got the gist of it thought. It was a warning. Something big was happening. And Annabeth, whoever she was had to fix it, whatever it was. If that warning was meant for Annabeth, why did it come for her? The last time she checked, her name was Sophie Elizabeth Foster.

Suddenly, a sharp clear take of pain consumed her. She thrashed and kicked, but it wouldn't just fade. She wanted to escape, sink into a murky blank space where the monster wouldn't find her.

"Sophie! Please come back! What did that nightm..." The rest of the sentence was unintelliginable. Then a gold breeze, like the sunrise passed her consciousness. She ran toward that, dissapointed it didn't last long. But an another breeze tickled her thoughts. This time a clear shade of blue, like the winter sky. This time her thoughts reached reality. However, she was still too tired to open her eyes.

'What if I wake you up because I wanna see you? What if I miss my girlf-what if I miss you?' a mental voice with a familiar crisp accent rang in her head.

So she reached up, with all of her power, and opened her eyelids. "Finally! I thought you wouldn't come back! One second you're peaceful and asleep, the other you're sweating all over and Bullhorn is screaming his head off! And then he insisted to lying down next to you. You were really freaking me out."The voice sounded testing, but somehow stern at the same time.

A brown haired guy in very interesting fashion choices was leaning on her, so close his nose bumped hers. What was his name? Oh right, Elwin. Fitz, Keefe, Grady, and Edaline was there as well.

"Leave it to Lady Fos-Boss to find a new way to die."Keefe added. Of course he'd be there to make her feel stupid.

As her eyes glanced over Fitz, she doubled back and saw something. A flash of teal, that reminded her of the eyes in her dream. Should she tell them about the dream...No. It was too personal. It probably was just her imagination. After all, her name was Sophie Foster, not Annabeth. But those eyes...the sea-green eyes felt somehow familiar. Sophie now felt like she should deffinetly know the owner of those too-pretty eyes.

Ugh, why didn't it trigger anything? Did the Black Swan implant them? Or was it another mistake, something the Black Swan didn't do often but when they did, it came with a tremendous cost?

Only one way to find out.

"Where's my Imparter?"

"I had a feeling you would say that. And no. You need time to rest, to heal, to recover from your latest brush with death.",replied Elwin, pointing to the square copper gadget hanging from a chain on the left wall. That's when Sophie realized she was in the Healing Center, not at her home. She guessed it would be a Elwin call, not her being carried all the way to Foxfire in her very frilly nightgown. But life always has surprises, even if they are embarrasing ones.

She had to reach to that Imparter. She sprinted toward it, but of course Elwin would strap her down to the cot with tape. Heavily thick tape. Come on! Oh my gosh, there was telekenesis. She concentrated as hard as she could, and the Imparter started tugging on the chain that bound it to the wall. It thrashed and did perky movements till it finally broke free. Sophie held out her hand and it sprinted to her hand.

"Show me Mr. Forkle! Show me Magnate Leto! Show me Sir Astin!" The screen stubornly remainded blank. It was only when she screamed "Show me Tiergan!" the screen lit up with a holograph of the strawberry-blond guy with dark brown skin.

"Did the Black Swan implant a guy with sea-green eyes into my memory? Also, he kept calling me Annabeth Chase. Is that related to the Black Swan?"she murmered. The only reply was a confused look. Of course it was.

"I'm pretty sure you're little time with Mr.Whoever-Person-From-Black-Swan-I-Don't-Care is done."Elwin snatched up the Imparter."But you can have more time with a sedative, these elixers,

"Yeah, the Black Swan didn't have a clue about the bo...About it."she was afraid it was a big slip that would explain everything."So I guess it isn't much."

"About what? About the what? The nightmare? The bo.. boat? Or boy? Boy problems?"Grady pressed.

Of course this would lead to a long boy problem talk when she came back to Havenfield. Now she was more concerned by that 'small talk' then anyone figuring out that seafoam-green eyed boy. She had to figure out who knew about the boy and the problem he was talking about subtely, not being too obvious.

Oh my gosh, she was doomed.

And of course the rest of her friends would come right in the middle of the Ultimate Grady/Sophie starefest. And they would bombard her with TOO many questions it hurt her head

trying to answer without hinting her dream. Or vision. Or whatever it is. And when Biana asked what the whole drama was about, she had to sweat all over and think of a less awkward way to make a very awkward excuse about having to go to the bathroom.

She was excused from having to answer when everyone gasped and looked at her. "Is there something on me?" Marella shook her head. "Of course not."she said. But even she seemed slightly shaken. Linh just shakily pointed at the wall behind the cot she was on.

Annabeth?"

Then the faces started to blur and before she knew it, all went black.
