[ Jujutsu Magica ]

Summary:

Something beyond Jujutsu. Even Tengen-Sama is unsure.

An interdimensional rift in the heart of Japan, Tokyo.

What is presented as an unusual mission turns out to be an encounter with the world of Magical Girls. Of course, there's a lot more than meets the eye.

"Looks like Sorcerers and Magical Girls aren't so different, huh?" - Fushiguro.

Notes:

Short crossover fic I decided to write.
Had in mine ever since I finished Madoka. I'll just be taking a little break from COS to write something fun.

Chapter 1: Special Grade Mission — Out of This World!

Chapter Text

It's a weird dream for Madoka Kaname.

Everything's gray, and everything's wrecked.

Has she been here before? There's a feeling she has.

Roaming through the chaos, she eventually reached the outside.

A scene of wreckage. Some kind of demon fighting against an extraordinary girl the same age as her.

“Madoka!!!”

Homura?

How'd she know that name?

She could ask questions later. An incredible battle was before her. Whatever that grotesque, shadowy demon was… it’s too much for “Homura” to handle.

What could she do to help? Madoka Kaname, a girl who doesn't stand out at all. Nothing exceptional… useless.

The wish for the weak is to become stronger.

And luckily, there's something to grant her that wish. A white cat emerged from the rubble, bearing alien-like tension.

“Who are you?”

And the words sound like a miracle.

Something that can grant her any wish. The promise of a lifetime.

There's some obvious opposition from Homura, but…

She must be in trouble… and not thinking straight.

Is she trying to save me, too?

Should I... run away?

Impossible.

No...

I… I can help!!

!!!!!

“AAAAHHHHH!”

Even Kyubey didn't expect this.

This… this evil presence! This sudden feeling in the universe.

No, beyond that.

A whole other universe.

Some kid from Japan with a cursed fate—fulfilling his destiny. His name was Yuji Itadori, and he was being begged not to consume the object promised to him since birth.

The Cursed Finger of Ryomen Sukuna.

A world so similar to this one.

Kyubey may have to expand their horizons…

So that considered, the dream ended.

“Woah!!! Yuji Itadori was surprised that he still remembered that day. That he still dreamt of that day. It was even more of a concern that he was beginning to fall asleep in Jujutsu High classrooms.

It was sort of peaceful here. After the finger-bearer incident, Gojo-sensei fought extra hard to allow the kid to take classes in Jujutsu High, like Okkotsu. Gakuganji was openly against it, but it didn't matter. Gojo was the strongest, after all. He'd kill them if he wanted to. Best to save it for the Goodwill Exchange.

“Itadori?” Megumi bopped him over the head lightly. Like Kugisaki, he sat on the desk beside Itadori. “I didn't even realize you were sleeping…”

“Yeah, me either.” Yuji yawned.

“How? His kind of snoring is the kind you can't ignore no matter what.” Nobara sighed, looking over to the side as if Itadori wasn't eyeing her in annoyance.

“Hey!”

“Too absorbed in studies.” Megumi said, putting his book “Jujutsu High Rules and Regulations” down onto the desk. “Can't say the same for you two.”

“Oh please!” Nobara spoke up, “You and Gojo-sensei broke a couple of ‘regulations’ by bringing in Itadori… no offense.”

“None taken.” Yuji leaned back, analyzing the rest of the classroom. Panda was curled up in the corner for no particular reason. Maki was staring out of the window, probably thinking about Okkotsu. And Inumaki… well, was Inumaki.

“Salmon.”

And then, he remembered the dream. Only now did he realize that it wasn't just about Sukuna, but something beyond his Innate domain. A girl's voice… no, two girls. One of them was desperate and the other was conversation-like.

“Something wrong, Itadori?” As always, Fushiguro was in his business. The tone of his voice was rather demanding. “You're staring off into space.”

“Well,” Yuji really sunk into the memory of the dream. “I… had a dream.”

Megumi looked over at Nobara, then back to Yuji. “Was it… about Sukuna?”

“Yeah. You know, that Innate Domain stuff Nanami's been telling me about.” Yuji nodded, “But… there was something else, too. Innate Domains are unique to the user, right? I know domains are weaker from the outside, but I don't think you're supposed to hear voices on the outside, right?”

“...Not that I know of.” Megumi said, thumb to chin.

“Wait wait… you heard… voices?” Nobara asked, “What voices?”

“It was some girl, I think… from the sound of it, she was younger than me. There was another, too. Shame I didn't get to see their faces.”

Megumi and Nobara exchanged glances once more, shrugging.

“What are you guys talking about?” Maki approached them, as demanding as ever.

With Panda and Inumaki becoming curious as well, Yuji Itadori relayed the information to them, thus brewing more confusion.

The answer would not come from speculation alone

S W A R P-!

A familiar face at the classroom door. The Grade One Sorcerer…

“Nanami!”

Well, Yuji finished the sentence.

“Hello, Itadori.” Nanami greeted himself with utmost professionalism, and informed the squad: “You all have been selected by Satoru Gojo himself to participate in a mission.”

“...Oh, really?” Yuji asked, standing up along with the others. “Gee, must be really important if sensei needs us.”

“He doesn't really need you, he just decided for you all to accompany him.”

“THAT IDIOT!” - Maki.

“Follow me.”

There was no information of their destination. Nanami decided that they'd recognize the importance of the mission upon revival.

THE TOMBS OF THE STAR

“Ten… Tengen-Sama?!”

They all did.

“Wassup, students! Now before you all unrightfully raise your voices at me let it be known that this mission has absolutely NO grade! So I was practically forced off my trail and brought here!”

His students still were not happy.

“...I'll just let the old lady explain.” Gojo sighed, sneaking off into the background.

Now, the situation:

“Last night, I experienced a disturbance within all four barriers scattered across Japan. It seemed to be a message of some kind—one clearly not of this earth. Before I could consider that, a barrier without my volition appeared on the outskirts of Shibuya. It is invisible to humans, and it is not made of Cursed Energy.”

“Woah, hold on…” Yuji's eyes widened, “We dealing with something alien?”

“We are dealing with something outside of the confines of Jujutsu. There is no doubt that this is not the work of a Sorcerer.” Tengen confirmed.

“Even more powerful than…”

“Yeah yeah!” Gojo chimed in, chuckling, “For once, I'm not the exception of something! What a surprise, amiright?”

Yuji then informed Tengen about the dream he had about Sukuna, and asked for the message.

Tengen could not confirm the intention of the message…

…But she did have two names.

“Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi. Those names have entered the stream of my assimilation ever since the incident.”

Megumi placed a hand over Yuji's shoulder, stepping forward. He couldn't lose Yuji, and the contents of this mission disturbed him greatly. “If this is related to the demon inside Itadori…”

“I'll keep that under control, Fushiguro. If Sukuna does anything funny, I'll kick his ass.” Gojo promised.

Good… because if he dies again, I'll kill him for sure. The mindset of both Fushiguro and Nobara.

“I'll be fine, Fushiguro.” Yuji promised as well with that pure smile. “Don't worry about me.”

Nanami knew that because of Yuji's after school training with him, he was on the verge of becoming a Semi-Grade one.

But if that happened, the kid would be forced to go on larger missions… and what happened to Haibara never escaped his mind.

Hence why…

“I'll be leading this investigation.” Nanami confirmed, straightening his tie. “You'll all have my contact information. I'll explain the details to you all once we arrive.”

“The contents of this barrier are surprisingly none-hazardous from what we know. A Sorcerer we deployed there reported it to be a Japanese city of some sorts… particularly by the name of Mitakihara town. There are three areas: Mitakihara Middle School, the Mitakihara business center, and Mitakihara Park, which according to the Sorcerer has rather strange activities. Consider this mission an expedition. You are all to gather as much information about this area as you can—and most importantly, find Madoka Kaname, and Homura Akemi.”

“Alright, I see.” Gojo nodded, “So what do we do with those two? I mean, what if they're middle school girls or something? We can't just expect them to know anything.”

“I did the same thing with Itadori, and it worked.” Megumi mentioned. “Well, somewhat.”

“Those two names are of concern, because they are the only names from the message I can confirm. I suspect that these names would come to me for a larger purpose, so no matter their form, I expect information.”

Everything laid out before the group.

They're ready to go.

Nanami would lead them out of the tombs and to the outskirts of Tokyo, where the galaxy-like barrier stood between the ground and heavens.

Clench! Yuji clenched his fists with great determination.

Time to show everyone… how much stronger I've gotten!

The residence of Homura Akemi is… indescribable. A labyrinth—a white void. Incomprehensible, but not to her, or the rather unwelcomed guest that entered without any heads up.

“Kyubey…”

“No need to snarl, Akemi.” Kyubey maintained their lucky expression as they spoke. “After all, you feel it too, right? Something about this timeline… it's different, isn't it?”

“Yeah.” Homura knew that better than anyone. To know that ambiguous forces from outside of this plane of existence were not only after her, but the person who propelled her into this path in the first place…

“I'll deal with them.”

…Unacceptable.
