Since Aeri is in a good mood and has some time to kill after dinner, she decides to have an impromptu livestream to chat with fans.
Ever since the album promotion activities kickstarted two weeks ago, she hasn't been able to interact much with fans, beyond dropping short messages in the fan-chat app and seeing them in the crowd of audience at broadcast stations for the music stage recording sessions.
Lazing on the living room sofa, she skims through the comments sent by fans, alternating between answering questions ("Supper recommendation? Anything that's still open after midnight haha!"), telling them about her day ("We woke up early today since we had a performance recording in the morning and I actually almost skipped breakfast but thankfully, Minjeongie got us snacks, love her") or talking about a random topic ("Jimin and Yizhuo were telling me about this new epic romance drama series that I should watch but the plot isn't really my taste so I'm still on the fence") comes to mind.
"Is Minjeong with you? Oh yes, she's actually on the sofa with me. Wait—"
Aeri leans to the side, disappearing from the camera viewpoint, her arms stretching, clearly reaching for something offscreen and when she appears back on the stream, she's holding a familiar white fluffy Maltese-looking dog.
"After our dinner, she's now in her dog form so we are just chilling together right now," Aeri explains.
"Is Minjeong thinking about dessert?"
After reading that comment, Aeri smiles and looks at Minjeong.
"Are you?" She teases her girlfriend.
Looking up at Aeri, Minjeong wags her short fluffy tail.
"There's your answer," Aeri chuckles, looking at the camera.
Minjeong tucks in her paws and makes herself comfortable on Aeri's lap as her human girlfriend continues on with the livestream.
Occasionally, her ears perk up adorably and her nose twitches. But other than that, she remains quiet. Chilling, as Aeri had said.
"Your girlfriend's cute. Well yes, I totally agree. I love her very much, thank you. Minjeongie is the cutest, be it in human form or her dog form," Aeri says softly as she strokes her girlfriend's back.
"She gets a bit annoyed when I do this—" Aeri says and leans down towards her girlfriend's head. She feigns biting Minjeong's ear.
The white furry being lets out a tiny yelp and reactively leans away from Aeri's mouth, making sure no teeth come near her ear. Aeri chuckles at her antics.
"But she likes it when I do this." To emphasise her point, Aeri gives chin scratches to her girlfriend. Instantly, Minjeong's tail wags excitedly. She then flops sideways, exposing her side and belly for Aeri to pat. And as expected, a flurry of comments calling her cute pops up in the livestream.
Every now and then, Minjeong will stare up at Aeri, looking at her, adoration obvious in her body language. And similarly, Aeri will look at her with affection clear in her eyes.
The comments mirror the public display of softness, affection and warmth. Aeri laughs at the light-hearted jokes and smiles at the sweet words.
Meanwhile, Minjeong is more than happy to use Aeri's lap as her napping spot (as always) and just when she's about to close her eyes, she hears Aeri reading a comment about her look.
The tiny dog instantly springs up, barking directly at the phone, feeling incredibly offended on Aeri's behalf.
And then Minjeong starts growling. Who dares talk like that about my girlfriend! Your dummy opinion is unsolicited!
"Whoa there, Minjeong!"
Aeri swiftly picks up the tiny dog into her arms.
"Hey, it's okay, it's okay," Aeri says, keeping her tone gentle, calming her irritated girlfriend.
Minjeong looks at Aeri and then lets out a few short barks, voicing her obvious opinions. She's not angry at Aeri. She's angry at them.
I don't like it when they say those things to you. These comments are not nice to see! These people suck!
"I know right Minjeongie, let it out."
Cradled in Aeri's arms, the fluffy dog does indeed let out a few more tiny barks and then proceeds to skulk. She faces away from the camera, squishing her face against Aeri's arm, as her girlfriend pats her back.
"That's Minjeong defending my honour in real time, my little white knight," Aeri quips, trying to lighten the mode.
She then reads out a few messages on the screen.
"Don't let the haters win."
"Just let Minjeong bite them!"
"Report that comment!"
"These folks have nothing better to do, clearly a bunch of sad fu—oops sorry, almost said out a curse word."
"Karma will get them back. Yes, I agree with you on this. Life's a circle."
Aeri finds the supportive and funny messages sent by fans endearing.
Minjeong has gradually calmed down and is now almost on the brink of dozing off in her girlfriend's arms.
"Aww you guys. Y'all are really sweet. Thanks and much love for always having my back."
Aeri currently has one hand on one of Minjeong's paws, a thumb stroking her paw pad in a soothing manner.
"I try not to let them affect me. But I'm only human, so those comments do stink."
She pauses for a moment, gathering her thoughts before continuing.
"And I don't want to focus on stinky things, y'all know what I mean? I want to focus on lovely things. Like my lovely family. My lovely group members. My lovely friends. My lovely fans like you there watching my stream. And lastly but not the least, my lovely girlfriend here in my arms."
"Aeri, you're so sweet. It's true! Let's focus on love. Love yourself. Love others. Let love and light in. And stay away from negativity," Aeri chuckles.
Aeri continues to chat a bit more with her fans before bidding them good night and turning off the stream.
She hugs Minjeong tightly against her chest, kissing the top of her fluffy head.
"Thanks for defending me just now. I love you so much."
Minjeong whines and lets out an enthusiastic bark.
And before long, she's back in her human form, tackling Aeri's face with kisses of her own.
After settling down and cuddling together on the sofa, Minjeong brings up a question.
"So... what's for dessert?"
"Do you love food more than you love me?"
The younger woman pouts at being teased by her girlfriend. She then turns away from Aeri's embrace. The older woman easily relents and Minjeong quickly and happily accepts Aeri's offer to order a delivery of some waffles with ice cream from their favourite dessert shop.
Nothing beats enjoying the rest of the night with some yummy dessert alongside your favourite person.
