Chapter Text
2:22am.
Lara had slept in her bedroom at the witching hour. Albeit the name will become self-explanatory. She splayed across the bed like a starfish under the heavy covers, a little bit of drool dripping out of the corner of her mouth. She had wore loose pyjamas with blue shorts and a t-shirt. The room's darkness, drowning out everything in it. A saccharine scent lingered, an inhuman shimmer in the air surrounding her. She had lazily turned to the left, towards the window that normally overlooked Zagreb; now it is drawn by the tweed curtains.
But the shimmer had faded gradually. But then it had struck her like lightning. A tingle in her lower back. A pulsating tingle that had whispered before the abrupt interruption.
It had erupted. It was a cat tail. Long, light brown with thin dark stripes. Somehow it had burst through the pyjama shorts with no difficulty, as if they've lost a battle. Then came the cat ears. Large, with translucent white tufts of fur in the inner ear. These ears were perched on her head, lazily perked up in hopes of any stirring as she slept. No reaction. Just a brief, soft purr emanating from her throat as her tail raised slightly before returning down on the mattress with a soft thump.
