He Who Listens

Summary:

Simon doesn’t know if he fully believes the stars are dead. He does know that Father says they are, and he has to trust that. He has to trust that everything he's been told is exactly the way it is. But, when a man named Ryland is brought to Eden from a place of unknown origin, everything he's ever been taught about the world he lives in - and himself - are put into question. Does Simon have the strength to forge his own path under the watchful eye of Father and the other Sons of Eden? Or will he continue down a path of destruction, hurting Ryland in the process.

Blessed is he who takes the mantle

         Who carries his title

Who delivers flesh holy

Who renders flesh rotten

         And is loudest to complain

 

Blessed is he who listens

         Who does what he is told

Who gives his body whole

         And to the The Last Tree

 

Wicked is he who whispers

         Who hides from God

Who puts ideas in his head

         And lures him away

Father’s Hound

         Trickster Fox

 

The Blessed must turn away from The Wicked

The Son of Eden must spurn the Son of Sol

If Father’s Hound lays with Trickster Fox
