Something like that just wasn’t excusable in a world where he needed a hundred and ten percent of his mental capacity to focus on not being murdered twenty clicks deep into the untamed wilderness. If all he could think about was how he could get the gold back to his nest and far away from the people who wanted it, no one was gonna be happy.

    “I mean you no disrespect, but what you’re asking of me is outside my depth,” Phil tried to blunt the bad news, “My sincerest apologies for any disappointment.”

    Honestly, he looked like a child struggling to reach his next birthday on his own. In an oversized, faded sweater, with bruises on his forearms, and a still unhealed, split lip, he definitely didn't resemble the little terrorist Phil had carefully guarded all sharp objects from. More like a victim of a natural disaster. As if he had spent hours on the roof escaping a flood, only to be carried away by a tornado.

    But burying the knives was still a good idea. The kid seemed to trip over while making a sandwich."

    Then, “It’s cold, Phil.”

    It is. It is cold.

    Phil prays his own fever is enough to keep Tommy warm through the night.

    It's hard for Phil, a cat, to look after a young toddler. It's even harder as the pair lives on the streets, getting colder by the day as winter steadily approaches.

    Then the pair get picked up by a tall witch, and his tusked familiar. In the midst of a magical home, Phil learns about himself, cares for Tommy, and struggles with a sense of guilt and self-worth.

    Wilbur's eyes flicker over to them. "Uh – " he swallows. "Um, yes. Sure. If – if you have to."

    And then she helps him peel off his hoodie. And then his shirt. And Technoblade's throat goes dry.

    Wilbur is covered in bruises. And usually, Techno knows, that's hyperbole, but no – this is honest. There's no blowing up the blue and black mottling his back, or his side, or his arm. His injured shoulder is actually the only part of him that's not marked up, and Techno is guessing that once the pain sets in, it won't stay that way for long.

    This, Techno thinks, is much, much more than he was expecting, and much, much more than he was ready to deal with.

    or, Wilbur Soot is a hockey player being treated awfully by his team. Techno is team captain of SMP, Phil's team, and he does Not like what he sees.

    And he was tired of it. It was like re-reading the same book over and over, he was tired of having to read through the entire book just to reach the same ending with each house. So this time he was skipping straight to the end and burning the pages.

    “Let me buy you a meal, Tommy.” Tommy’s heart skipped for a moment, almost sure it was a trap. The second part of his head was convinced that even the chance at a meal was enough to follow.
    “What’s the catch?” He jogged forward, still cautious.
    “You let me help you find an alternative to the ring.”
    Tommy rolled his eyes. “Good luck, you’re starting from scratch.”
    Techno smiled. “I can work with that.”

    “I was not ratty,” Tommy grumbles, crossing his arms and glaring.

    This gets Techno to pause, turning to deadpan at Tommy with his eyebrow raised.

    “I was not!”

    “You still are,” Techno rumbles, turning back to his dough. From the mouth of almost anyone else, it would be mean and bitter. From Techno, it only sounds fond.

    Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”

    “Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”

    “But?”

    Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."

    or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

      Brief recap
      - Tommy is homeless and gets kidnapped off the street by Dante’s goons
      - hes thrown into a cell in the basement with an instinct high technoblade
      - they want techno to kill Tommy for some goal against hybrids politically
      - techno basically adopts Tommy
      - Phil comes to rescue techno and tries to kill Tommy since Phil dosnt know him
      - Tommy tries to escape Dante’s basement and emerald duo but runs into Dante’s lair/meeting room(?)
      - emerald duo fight Dante and Tommy escapes while they’re distracted
      - emerald duo hunt Tommy down for six months(?) to keep him as technos personal living teddy bear while Tommy thinks they’re trying to kill him
      - they catch him and explain that he’s basically been kidnapped and has no choice in the matter but also hes now spoiled and rich

    Tommy was many things: feared, free, powerful… but he wasn’t proud.

    He wasn’t proud of the title he had or the name they’d called him, honestly he didn’t think he deserved it. Tommy never had an evil plan, or a secret lair, or any of the cool things villains had. All he had was a shitty apartment and the clothes on his back, and a desire for more.

    He couldn’t be a civilian, and he certainly wouldn’t be a hero, so he did what he had to do.

    At fifteen years old, Red Death killed the top heroes in L’Manburg, and Tommy became a villain.

    Or: Two years ago, the top heroes of L'Manberg were killed by Red Death. Now, ex-villain Tommy tries to juggle the fallout while also forging new relationships, some of which may be more complicated than they seem.

      Kinda slow and hard to focus on but the writing is top tier

      Brief recap
      - Tommy has the power of life and death
      - his death was faked and he was taken to a hero training facility at the age of 6
      - he trained with ranboo and tubbo until dream took him on as a student at the age of 9
      - sapnap trained him until he was 12 and dream trained him till he was 15
      - at 15 Tommy killed dream and George before running away and becoming the villain Red Death
      - at 17 Tommy has an apartment, a job at a diner, and he meets Wilbur
      - punz tries to bring him back to sapnap and Tommy escapes to hide with sbi
      - sbi find out that Tommy is Red Death and he runs away again
      - sbi find Tommy trying to sneak onto a boat to get away from the city
      - they all get jumped by the heros on the docks and Tommy is taken back to the hero tower
      - sapnap forces Tommy to revive dream before realizing that dream is fucked in the head
      - sapnap helps tommy escape only to be cut off and killed by dream after getting Tommy out
      - sbi come to rescue him and Wilbur dies in the fight
      - sapnap kills dream, techno breaks Tommy’s suppression cuffs, and Tommy brings Wilbur back to life
      - time skip to Tommy getting therapy
      - birthday celebration
      - Tommy gets reunited with tubbo and ranboo
