Bruce stepped aside stiffly, letting him pass. Clark strolled in, dropped his bag on a chair, and promptly flopped onto one of the beds with a content sigh.

There were two beds.
Or, Bruce had meticulously planned the perfect one-bed setup to finally make a move on Clark—until the bed and breakfast messed up and gave them two beds, leaving his seduction plans hanging by a thread.

Together they watched the panel tick up to the 21st floor. Some part of them both knew to brace. Sure enough, the elevator jolted to a sudden stop. This time, since they were both ready, Clark didn’t end up pressed against him.
(Bruce tried not to dwell on his faint, stupid disappointment.)
“I’m getting a deep sense of déjà vu,” Bruce said, eyebrows raised.
“Probably a time loop,” Clark agreed.
Or, Brucie Wayne and Clark Kent get caught in a time loop while stuck in an elevator, and find themselves with only two options: trust each other or stay stuck forever.
