“You love him don’t you, Castle?” Billy cooed, tracing a scarred finger through Matt’s sweat soaked hair. “I can tell by the way you react when I cause him pain. The sorrow in your eyes when he cries out for mercy.”
Frank pulled at his restraints until he felt his wrist slick with blood, screaming behind the soiled rage that was trapped between his teeth. This was his fault. He created enemies with the wrong people and now he was going to lose the only thing left living for in this world.
Frank should have known that old enemies would come back to haunt him in the worst way imaginable. He had already lost one family and he wasn't ready to lose another.
Set between Daredevil Season 2 and The Punisher Season 1.

Curt’s in absolutely no mood to deal with whatever’s currently happening out in the hall, and has already picked his phone back up to call 911 when he realizes that whoever’s at the door has a key, from the sound of it. They’re not exactly doing a good job of using it, he thinks as he peers out of the bedroom, missing the lock several times and probably scratching up the damn paint while they’re at it.
Then there’s a thump, as if someone’s slumped against the door, followed by a muffled groan, and—
“Fuckin’—Christ, Red, jus’ hold on for a goddamn second.”
Curt rubs a hand over his face.
