How'd it happen?" Klaus asked. The least he could do was figure out how he killed them. Maybe then he could use it on himself- if it worked so well. So quick.
"How'd what happen?" Five asked from the sidelines.
"How'd you... you know?" Klaus mumbled.
"Klaus, buddy, look at me." Diego sternly stated. When Klaus didn't, because he wasn't ready to see his brother's open throat or scar again, Diego forced him to by moving his head over.
"Explain," he declared shortly.
"How'd you... die?" Klaus asked quietly. Nobody answered. Nobody even seemed to breathe. Klaus supposed that was a quirk that came with dying, though. He can't breathe; they don't have to.
"Klaus... we didn't die," Vanya said shaking her head in the back. Klaus just stared at Diego, who seemed to want to kill Klaus. That was normal; he wouldn't be surprised if Diego attacked him right now.

Summary
Set in the AU where sweet, bubbly Prompto did not escape the circumstances of his birth. Raised in Niflheim to become a daemon-infused, mechanically enhanced super soldier until obtained by Cor Leonis at the age of approximately 11, Prompto struggles to adjust to life in Lucis. He can barely understand what's expected of him day to day, let alone begin thinking of things over the long term. The adults around him are struggling too, unable to find a way through Niflheim's psychological conditioning to the scared kid they want to help rehabilitate.
As the weeks drag on without notable improvement, they are forced to consider more radical actions.
