Summary
Trust Fury to fuck everything up. Now Peter's in a position of leadership he didn't want, with a hundred scared mutant kids hiding (read: stuck) on an alternate universe, and Johnny can barely even look at him. The last thing he needs is any more eyes on him—especially from those weird vigilantes who seem to hold the same anti-mutant (or meta) beliefs as everyone back home.
Unfortunately, Parker luck is trans-universal.

Johnny was in that Peter Parker’s body and all he could think about was how massively unfair it was. How unfair that Johnny had to live in a universe where Peter Parker was already all that and it wasn’t even enough. Oh, no.
Peter Parker’s goddamn abs just had to be so much better than Johnny’s.

“Hey, Ben is the fourth favorite. I’m a solid third.”
“His fourth favorite nemesis in Las Vegas—”
“The Little Latverian Chapel, if you want to get exact.”
“With a Doctor Doom impersonator officiating.”
“He said we were his favorite couple of the night, by the way,” Johnny said, yawning. “And he just smiled and nodded when you told him you were actually Spider-Man.”

Even his bff doesn't react supportively, which is rude, disrespectful, and completely awkward when Johnny walks into a time anomaly and wakes up in the future married not to his beloved Spider-man, but to Peter Parker.
Huh, no wonder Parker reacted so badly to the news.
