This fic will forever hold a special place in my heart
It helped me stumble down a rabbit hole of fics on here that eventually lead to me playing the game, for which I am eternally greatfulWill likely never be updated and I'm slightly fine with that, it's a good story and I enjoyed it
AND YES THAT SNIPER/SPY TAG so many times ships are tagged for showing up for 0.2 microseconds, sniperspy EARNS its right to be there next to the main ship dispite being 'bg'

Notes:
This fic is a plot/character driven story, with focus on monster angst, struggling with what it means to be human, and the sparking relationship between our tentaspy and engineer protagonists. It does have sex, but it's in service of the plot. (Aka this ISN'T a tentaspy porn fic.)This fic has named TF2 OC's, as it goes under the idea that each merc is a unique hired individual but still falls under the general known stereotypes for their class. None of these characters are meant to be the canon mercs.
Also the tagged Sniper/Spy relationship is a background supporting character one and isn't involving Domi. It has enough screentime to warrant the tag though.
CONTENT WARNINGS:
CW: dead wild animals (NO pets) - Domi kills prey and eats it. I do NOT focus on any animals suffering. CW: homophobic slurs (maybe 4 times total, only where most appropriate). CW: period-typical homophobia. CW: medical torture, CW: some violence and gore - isn't too bad for a TF2 fic honestly - I don't like excessive violence, torture or gore, its mostly in service of the hurt comfort. CW: Attempted Suicide (very brief in passing mention).
