Robin turned her face towards him, a recognition that shouldn’t be there flashing through her blue eyes.
He knew they weren’t supposed to meet yet, but the fact that he found her here, in a place he had never heard of from her, gave him hope, hope that he wasn’t alone. But he had to make sure, so he opened his mouth and in perfect Russian recited-‘’A trip to China sounds nice”

Steve Harrington never understood loneliness until he was stuck five years in the past with nothing but a whole lot of trauma, insomnia, and a stupid fear of flickering lights. But still, alone or not he had the perfect opportunity to change what happened. To make sure none of his shitty kids has to sleep with the lights one because of the monsters they know are real. He could save Barb, he could save Bob, he could save- Billy.
And maybe, just maybe, Steve isn't as alone as he first thought. -

Then Harrington graduates, and Eddie doesn’t, and Eddie's life gets simpler in some ways and more complicated in others. He falls into a pattern - go to school, avoid the idiots who engage in 'Hunt the Freak', scrape his way through classes, DM for Hellfire. It's good, it's enough, he's fine.
But now Harrington is back, with his stupid soft hair and that dumb fucking smile, and Eddie's only human, okay? And if, after all these years of keeping his stupid infatuation under control, Harrington's personality turns out to be as lovely as his stupid face?

Steve is bleeding. The mall is in shambles and the ceiling is coming down. Billy Hargrove is dead and a third of the town with him. Steve runs through the mall's corridors until he can't, banging and pleading on locked doors for someone to open one and save him.
Thing is, it's Billy Hargrove who does.

On shaking legs, Eddie slowly stood up and turned to face Dustin again. Though he had been expecting it, Eddie felt a punch in the gut as he took in the image before him. He saw himself, lying in Dustin’s arms, covered in blood. His eyes were wide open, staring into nothing. Unblinking. Eddie could feel bile rising in his throat. That was him. His body. He was dead, but somehow he was still here, still around.
Eddie sat down hard on the ground, eyes still glued to the pair in front of him.
“Fuck.”
(Or, Eddie becomes a ghost after he dies and, though he can't communicate through normal channels, tries to find his way back to the Party)

The ground shook and split as ash rained from the sky. It was over. Vecna had won. The slippery bastard had beaten them at their own game.
And then Steve was somehow back in his bedroom. No explanation, no warning. He had no idea how he ended up back in ‘83, but by god he had three years to try and change the tide and he wasn’t going to waste them. And hell, maybe he'll get to that whole 'thrown back in time' thing eventually.
This is a fair warning to anyone who wants to read. I haven’t actually watched the first two seasons in years and never put myself through three and four. Love Robin and Eddie and Erika but it’s just not the same. So if you see something and say hey wait a minute that’s not how it- shh. Hush. Silence.

"How are you so calm about this man?" Eddie asks looking at him over his shoulder. "Is time travel like a thing now?"
Steve opens his mouth to say no but then he thinks about it. Time travel could be a thing but if it was it would be so regulated the government wouldn't tell the general population. He's well aware of several things the government tries to keep hush-hush. "I don't think so," he says tentatively. "I've just seen a lot of shit."
"Yeah," Eddie shudders and looks back out the window. "I know the feeling."

Defeating Vecna and destroying the Upside Down wasn't without consequence. They'd thought that the earthquakes that ripped craters throughout Hawkins were it. At least they did until Steve found an eighties metalhead in his basement.
