Newbie Merlin Emrys has, in a surprising turn of events, snagged a seat at top-team Dragonfly Racing. With the winning combination of a car fast enough to challenge Arthur's, a new driver who was born to the wheel, and a sharp-edged strategy, Merlin is an opponent who is ready to challenge Arthur's winning streak. It becomes even more complicated when things start to become tense between the two championship contenders, and Arthur has to fight to keep his head in the race.

Summary
The storm that had passed through Albion didn't only bring devastation to Camelot.
It also brought a party belonging to the king, queen and princess of a distant land on the edge of Albion's maps. As per propriety and courtesy, the king of Camelot was required to hold a feast and provide accommodation for them. The feast started off smoothly, the royals of Camelot getting along quite well with the royals from Harden.
But a single question changed everything. Including the destiny and future of Arthur and Merlin.
"And what are your stances on magic?" Uther asked.
It took all Merlin had not to tense up.

This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::

In which Merlin gets conned into spending Christmas with Arthur's family and pretending to be his husband, because somehow this is his life.
