Summary
After revealing his magic, Merlin promised his king that he would tell him if he was hurt or needed help. The aftermath of an assassination attempt sent him, injured, stumbling into Arthur's chambers to fulfill his promise. Once he did that, he figured he could finish getting ready for the visiting delegation and wrap up his chores. He wasn't sure why Arthur was being so weird about it. He was only lightly shot.

Summary
Merlin can't always use magic to protect Arthur and Camelot, so throughout Merlin's decade spent by Arthur's side, the knights of Camelot teach Merlin a thing or two about holding his own.
Or, 5 times a background knight teaches Merlin a different fighting skill, and the 1 time Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table find out (in the coolest way possible, of course).

Summary
Merlin hadn’t done anything dumb or self-sacrificial like Arthur had feared—that was the silver lining. But that left him with one conclusion. Arthur had died by Mordred’s blade. He was no mortal, not any longer. He was a ghost.
or—it's been a few months since Camlann, and Arthur reappears as a ghost, cursed to be unseen and unheard by his loved ones left behind. It's too bad no one in Camelot is powerful enough to see and interact with ghosts . . . right?

Summary
“Gwaine,” Merlin informed, and he was just teasing Arthur, trying to rile him up about his ego. “Is the whole package.”
“Gwaine has the concentration span of a newborn lamb.” Arthur declared, angry, and Merlin rolled his eyes.
Arthur has an unreadable expression as his eyes dart over to look at Gwaine, then back at Merlin.
He scoffed and grabbed his own sword before marching onto the field, Merlin watching as he dropped his hands off his waist, rolling his eyes exasperatedly at Arthur’s constant peacocking.
