Summary
A few nights a week, Jared lights a candle in the window and opens the doors to his speakeasy, welcoming one and all, so long as they know the password and how to keep their mouths shut. When the liquor starts to dry up and the revenuers start closing in, Jared is forced to hang all of his fortunes on Jensen, a bootlegger who offers him a lot of pretty promises and an even prettier smile. Together, they set off on a run that will take them from mountain hollows to metropolitan hideouts, from backwoods shacks to ritzy hotels and all points in between. They couldn't be more different; Jared is unassuming, low-keyed, and Jensen is as flashy as his souped-up Buick, but they soon discover that they have a lot more than moonshine in common.

The werewolf town of Moonrise should have been a safe haven for a werecat like Jensen; far away from his kind, without the danger of bumping into a compatible mate. Summary
Jensen was the sole heir of a wealthy kingdom, cursed to become sterile except in winter when he becomes fertile for bearing. Every year men vied for the right to breed him and become royal consort, but none of the victors have ever impregnated him. As he grew older, he and his country grew more desperate.
Jared was the chieftain of a reviled tribe that was on the brink of starvation. Their homeland was lost to them long ago. They have no meat on their bones and even less in their stores to help them through the winter. Jared goes to beg pity from Jensen's kingdom, only to end up in the yearly competition for the chance to impregnate the king.
