Summary
Months after temporarily unsealing Osial and unleashing him on Liyue Harbor, Childe finds himself still spending a surprising amount of time with the former geo archon. Meals together and walks through the harbor are constants that he's used to, things he just naturally accepted even though the sting of betrayal at being used by Zhongli and Signora never truly went away. A few days before his return to Snezhnaya however, Zhongli asks him a strange question.
“If I stated that I wished to create a family with you, would you be against it?”

It was in the way Xiao, despite all his scowling, started showing up at their table without an excuse, as if some part of him had accepted the ridiculous notion that he belonged here. It was in the mornings, when Childe woke up before Zhongli, stretching in the golden dawn, and realized that this—this quiet, steady life—felt more like victory than any battle ever had.
In which Childe learns that “home” is not a place you conquer, but a place where someone saves your seat.
(Or, the one where Childe accidentally adopts a Yaksha, marries a god, retires from the Fatui, and calls it character development.)

Summary
Amber eyes were sharper than usual, more reptilian. There was a crack within his humanity appearing already at such a gift being laid out before him. And yet, his hands were so gentle as they adjusted the rope harness hugging Childe’s skin. The knot was untied, confident fingers plucking the woven silk into proper placement. A small gasp came from the ginger as the knot was retied.
The fabric of his shirt hit the floor with a soft sound. Zhongli took his place back on the couch. His legs were spread wide, a finger beckoning his lover to come closer. Childe had to bite his tongue, wanting to say a sharp comment like ‘make me’. Instead, he padded across the living room and dropped to his knees the moment he was between long graceful legs.

“Come on, Morax, you’re not going to let the curtain fall on our performance so easily, are you?” Childe jibes as Morax stands, leaning on his spear, hand clamped to his injured side. Morax’s face twists, nose wrinkling as the comment lands.
He won’t remember. He can’t remember. But it doesn’t stop Childe from hoping that the past fortnight has been only a nightmare, and that Zhongli will welcome him home with open arms.
Morax straightens, takes a thundering step toward him. “Enough! Creature, human, whatever it is you are, yield!”
“Afraid I can’t do that, old man.” A deep breath to shut out the static crackling within, and Childe charges.
Zhongli is perfect. Their relationship is perfect. He is everything Childe could wish for.Then Zhongli starts to forget — memories, experiences, history — leaving Childe in a race against time to save him from a fate worse than death.
