Summary
Testing her own seals in uncontrolled circumstances (read: in the middle of real combat) is something Shikako reserves for really deep trouble, like when another C-rank inexplicably becomes A-rank. In the Land of Hot Springs, Shikako discovers another, deeper level of trouble wherein she's willing to test other people's seals in uncontrolled circumstances (read: while trying to prevent a god of suffering and malice from crawling its way into her universe) and damn the consequences.

Summary
Thor and his efforts to live on Midgard, as opposed to just defending it.
in many ways, he is childlike by Midgard's standards. He cannot read or write any local language, a skill set much more valued and valuable here than on other worlds. He is literate and numerate, of course, in more than just the language of the Aesir, but that does not help him in London or Cleveland or New York. He cannot tell whether the bottle contains soap or condiment, he does not know what a telephone is, or why it is that red lights in the street mean "stop" but on a machine means that it is "standing by" and ready to be used. He cannot contribute to the running of Jane's household, nor is he of any possible use in her work, and the lack of function grates, although he is careful not to take out his frustration on -- or give voice to any doubts about his chosen path to -- Jane or Darcy or Selvig.

Summary
Once the hard facts and ugly details were cataloged and categorized, the most lasting realization in terms of intangibles and things that didn't get put in reports of any kind was that Lt. Col. John Sheppard was a lot more than he intimated he was. A battalion of marines shouldn't be risking annihilation at the hands of a small band led by an Air Force rotor pilot.

“Noxias paled and shut up. Like most of the pureblood Slytherins, he had only discovered the existence of wooden lawn gnomes after he had started having Defense lessons with Harry. Now everyone in Harry's Defense class both knew of their existence and feared them. Harry, who had already learned the sixth year N.E.W.T.-level material and had spent the year slowly reviewing it, had created the spell by merging a series of relatively complex sixth-year transfiguration sequences with a series of much more complex sixth-year charms. It was used solely on irritating or belligerent Defense students. Harry had used it so often that he no longer needed to vocalize the spell when he did the wand work. There were reasons that, despite locking several years' worth of Gryffindors and Slytherins in a room together three times a week, Harry had never had very many discipline problems, serious or otherwise.

Nick Fury simply nodded, taking no pleasure in having forced his answer. "Then I will have to inform you that you were wrong… regrettably." He snapped a finger. Half of the central screen dimmed, James Evans's half. "After we got the situation of the Helicarrier under control, we immediately went after you, Dr. Banner. We tracked you to downtown Manhattan… based on the trail of wreckages you left behind. Contrary to what you believed, you were in full Hulk mode when you landed… and a good while after."That caught Bruce Banner by surprise.
"But…" The physicist started but Nick Fury cut right in.
"I thought the same." Said the director of SHIELD, eyeing the rest of the room's occupants. "I asked myself. How… could an ordinary man, an Anthropologist doctor and museum curator, got the Hulk into his apartment? … which is a full mile away from the closest wreckage you left behind, Dr. Banner. Under what circumstance did he meet the Hulk for that matter? I was curious… and suspicious, as I'm wont to be as the director of SHIELD. Even more, the report I got from my tracker teams were full of holes. The teams sent to Manhattan reported no eye witnesses. Dr. Banner landed amidst daylight, in the heart of one of the most populated area of New York and we couldn't find a single person who could point us to where a big, green, angry giant had gone. I knew then that something was amiss… and with our situation with Loki and his magic… well…"
Bruce Banner went silent.
