Jughead didn't know what it was about the blonde waitress, but since the first night she had served Toni, Archie and him, he couldn't help coming back and sitting in her section. He always insisted on coming later, when the diner was less crowded so he could keep an eye on the blonde. Something about her called to his protective instincts the same way his younger sister did. She looked fragile, like she needed to be protected and he couldn't fight those instincts.

Yale had welcomed her with open arms nearly a week after her mother, Alice Cooper, had filled out and sent in her application. Alice had been thrilled. Betty had dreamt about burning her acceptance letter on the sidewalk in front of where her mother worked. Betty knew this was the perfect opportunity to show everyone that she wasn’t perfect.
Jughead Jones, had, despite himself, ended up at an Ivy League school. He was a sponsor student, the kid all the rich, genius snobs whispered about in those hallowed halls. He had spent his young, impressionable years doing his very best to put forth as little effort as possible. But “his brains were worth saving,” his principle had told him over and over again. The poor man just wanted something bright and shiny to come from Southside High. Jughead Jones was neither bright nor shiny, dammit. At least, he tried his hardest not to be.

Summary
Jughead Jones most certainly did not want to move to Riverdale. But, life conspired against him, and he didn't have much choice. In foster care, on the other side of the tracks, he's determined to keep his head down, and stay invisible. He's most certainly not going to stay in Riverdale for very long, and he most certainly isn't going to get attached to any of The Town With Pep's residents.
That is, of course, until he meets a certain green-eyed blonde, with secrets of her own....
