The banter and characterization!!!
" Need is subjective, Kei-kun. And I am not always a good person. What if I need something that you can't give? What if I ask for something you're against?" His sour expression shifts into something more vulnerable, something that makes Keito want to smooth out all the lines on his face until he's smiling that infuriating languid smile again. But he can't- Sakuma's stuck with this fragile, weary face. "I could hurt you."
What Keito wants to say is something comforting. Something reassuring, something like, you won't, or, what makes you think that? But they both remember. They know what he's capable of, and they know the damage done.
So he doesn't say any of that. Instead, he shrugs. "You could."

His perfect lips twist in a sneer and he sets her cup down with a thump. “Do not be ridiculous. Does a king cease to be a king if he sets foot outside his borders? The Gate, my Golden Rule—all are one with me. Mongrel, the Throne of Heroes transcends time and space. I transcend time and space. My little trips affect nothing.” His crimson eyes glitter with hauteur. “More importantly, you are here, and know my glory for yourself. That is enough. And besides, there is an air here, something familiar yet not…haha.”
Reads like something out of CCC, amazing writing
