    Summary

He turns around, his tunic soaked with blood, and holds the gorgon's head up by its wispy hair.

    "Anakin, please-"

"Don't beg me, Master,” says the last of the Sith, tenderly reaching to cup Obi Wan's hot cheek with a gore-stained hand. “Command me.”

The ever-popular time travel fix-it fic... with a bit of a twist.

You know what’s funny?” Anakin asks. Obi-Wan looks at him, and the moment their gazes lock, Anakin flushes, mouth twisting into a regretful shape as he turns away. “Never mind,” he says, shaking his head, so terribly lovely that Obi-Wan feels sick just looking at the sharp cut of his profile. “It’s too embarrassing.”

“Oh, come on now, that’s no fun,” Obi-Wan says. “What’s funny?”

Anakin shuffles closer. “Fine,” he says. “I was just going to say—it’s funny we’re doing this, now, blowing off steam together. Because when I was a child, I had a huge crush on you.”

    Summary

Padmé and Anakin make their goodbyes to Coruscant one teary and emotional morning at the start of the year, holding two babies and each other’s hands and a “you must visit.” Obi-Wan knows even as they leave that there is nothing they can do about their divergent responsibilities, and that with them on Naboo and Obi-Wan anywhere in the galaxy at any given moment, they will, necessarily, grow further and further apart.

So naturally, a month later, Obi-Wan walks into his suite to find Anakin sitting on his couch.

    --

Or: Anakin and Padmé enjoy domestic bliss, and Obi-Wan deals with missing his friends admirably.*

    Summary

Obi-Wan does not have a case of the flower disease.

But he does love Anakin far more than appropriate—far more than he ever intended to. It is a mockery of the Jedi Code, of the Order itself, the fervor for which Obi-Wan Kenobi loves Anakin Skywalker.

It is also a secret that he would quite happily take to the grave, should it come to it.

When he wakes in the middle of the night, chest spasming from a coughing fit, and looks down into his lap to find his sheets strewn with flowers and spots of blood, he thinks that perhaps it has.

Below the observation deck, the Marshal Commander of the Third Systems Army is being divested of his armor and weapons, shackles heavy on his wrists. He doesn’t struggle, only a mulish stubborn twist to his jaw showing his displeasure at the situation.

Obi-Wan opens his eyes, steps back from the observation window. “I need a week.”

    Summary

Anakin blinks the bleary morning light, tugs Obi-Wan into bed by his wrist, which he pulls over his own head, dragging Obi-Wan’s under-arm over his face. He buries his nose there, closing his eyes and inhaling. “You didn’t do a very good job of showering,” he says, voice muffled by matted down hair. “I can still smell you.”

His fingertips touched Obi-Wan’s. Their eyes slid toward each other. He felt the surge of the Force between them, welling up in Obi-Wan’s chest, making Anakin’s throat tighten until he was forced to look away.

"You know we can't," he said.

    Summary

"How do you know Nonagesimus has gone somewhere dangerous?" asked Isaac. "Have you wired some kind of alert system?"

"It's, uh. It's on the schedule," said Gideon. "I just... forgot. Because of the bread."

Nobody was convinced by this, least of all Gideon.

"It's a Ninth House thing," Gideon went on, backing away with increasing desperation. This was a slightly more plausible explanation, if only because nobody wanted to look too closely at what fell under the awful skeletal-ribbed and rotting umbrella of Ninth House things. "Gotta go—!" And she was out the door, gone.

But it wasn't a Ninth House thing, except inasmuch as it was happening to the only two representatives of the noble and decrepit Ninth House on this quite literally godforsaken rock. Gideon knew Harrow had gone somewhere dangerous—knew that Harrow was back in the lab where they had only just completed a horrible trial—because she could see it, clear as day: an awful overlay on her vision of that terrible dangerous room and a pair of terrible dangerous hands drawing some kind of ward next to the plinth.

    The hands were definitely Harrow's.

    This was definitely a problem.
