Summary
In battle, a Kremnoan was expected to dominate by force of strength and will, to leave no survivors in service of Nikador’s insatiable hunger. It isn’t that there is no word for romance in the Kremnoan language—it is that the word for to love is the same as the one for to fight for.
Explaining this to Phainon, in far fewer words, produces…interesting results.
after some conversation and a little negotiation, Phainon and Mydei decide to try something new.

Mydei spits out his drink. It lands all over Phainon’s face, who stays unmoving with his quintessential smile, his bangs and clothes now damp with pomegranate juice. Mydei wipes his mouth and looks at Phainon as if the latter had just put toothpaste in his bread and ate it.
“Deliverer,” Mydei says very slowly, “what the fuck did you just say?”

“Speaking of you two, how did you even start dating?” Cipher asked, peering at him curiously, “I can't imagine how the little nerd asked you out on a date. Enlighten us.”
“I was the one who asked him out, actually,” Mydei answered. Phainon was too dense to make the first move, after all.
All three pairs of eyes at the table stared at him. Clearly, they seemed to have thought the opposite.
Mydei's boyfriend is a total nerd and a beast in bed. Who said one can't be both?

Neither one of them made any move to resist as Phainon began to steer them to the bedroom, his hearty chuckles echoing against the walls of their cosy house.
An alternate version of Mydei, a woman, shows up from a different universe. Phainon needs to fuck both her and his Mydei at the same time. To send her back. Totally just because he needs to send her back.

Phainon couldn't help but feel a bit attracted to Mydei from the very first meeting they had; he only wished he had been more honest with him from the very first moment.
Not that it matters, Mydei only wants that man wearing glasses to follow him everywhere just as bad as Phainon wants to follow him.
