Comment on Time Travel Tango, or, Rasa and the Cat

  1. I really loved how when Cat/Kankuro arrived in the past, even though he didn't know how/why/if it really happened, he just slid into a new life and got on with things. (I am also a bit boggled by Madara. Seriously, I knew he was bad at people, but what did he honestly expect? The man loved his own brothers, he should have known better! Still, his oversight was very much to the benefit of basically everyone else, so screw him.) I liked how Baki and Yashamaru went from suspicious of Cat to eventual complete acceptance, and how Yashamaru is one of the things/people Cat acknowledges he's going to miss (since most of the rest of them, he gets back in a different form). I also really liked how much Cat/Kankuro enjoyed the puppet theater.

Actually, just everything about the teachers was great: Kankuro's dare to his students to strip his facepaint, and how they never succeeded except when he let them in spite of their escalating efforts; Yashamaru's low poison suspicions; Cat knowing exactly what Kankuro needed to hear as a student ("Then you take it, kid," Cat replies. "You make them regret every second they made you feel like you didn't belong." And then Kankuro's party was a zillion times better than Cat's!); Baki offended on Temari's behalf when Rasa didn't want her for Kazekage; Kankuro keeping the tradition of his teacher's face paint.

Finally, I <3 your icon like whoa.

    1. XD I am glad you like my icon! I like yours, too. I suppose it's worthwhile to mention that both Baki AND Yashamaru were suspicious of Cat for longer than it seems, mainly because he clearly had troupe-master level puppeteering skills while being a standard master/jounin. I couldn't manage to get that in without losing the focus on the siblings, though, so I just left it be. Thank you for reading!
