Yesss! I wanted to include more details of him being nervous, but since it was from John's POV I wanted to keep it honed in on John's perceptions, and also I'd like to imagine that Paul wasn't that nervous at all - it's only John, after all. And he evens the playing ground of being all vulnerable and mushy by making sure John reads one, too, haha. I'm so glad their characterizations / dynamic felt real, I was very uncertain about that!!
