Comment on Invitation queue turned off for a week to combat spam

    Hello! I was just wondering if there was an estimation as to how long it will be before those of us waiting get our invites? I know some have been waiting longer than myself but I'm hoping that maybe with the queue turned off that means we won't have to wait until potentially the beginning/middle of next month?

      Exactly when you'll receive your invitation depends on how many spammers are ahead of you in the queue and how quickly our Abuse team can clear them out. You can check your estimated wait time on the Invitation Requests page -- it will update as the queue gets cleaned up.

        When I go to check it now does not give me an estimation of when I should receive an email. This seems to be a new update, can you elaborate on what it means for those of us waiting to receive invites?

        Is there a way we could 'verify' ourselves further so as to not be seen as potential spam/allowed to circumvent all the potential spambots?

          Thanks for letting us know about this behavior with the wait list, and I'm sorry for providing incorrect information! It won't affect whether or not you receive an invitation, but we'll log the issue so we can get it fixed.

          We'll also be looking into the possibility of verifying invitation requests to cut down on our spam issues in the future.

        A commenter below discovered that the Invitation Requests page currently shows your position on the waiting list, but not the date on which you should receive your invitation. My apologies for providing the wrong information. However, your position should continue to update as we clear out the spammers.
