If it was not for her, it wouldn't happen. Not only because she gave birth, but even dying she influenced how her dinasty would go after her absence. Ivar embraced the beast she saw in him.
Ivar should send Sigtrygg to uncle Ubbe indeed. The poor boy lost his mother and his father, because without Moyra to connect them, Ivar is always away not to bond with his son. If not for Moyra and Astrid, he wouldn't have affection.
