One tiny suggestion: I get that the menu is alphabetical, but it would seem to make sense to me to drop "Other Media" down to the end, on top of "Uncategorized Fandoms"-- that is where I'd instinctively look for "something that doesn't fit into the existing established categories." Was that discussed at all?
"Other Media" was left in alphabetical positions for a few reasons. Foremost, it keeps the order of the categories in the menu consistent with the Fandoms page at http://archiveofourown.org/media. Secondly, a number of the fandoms in "Other Media" are either complex, mixed media or are forms of media that we didn't set the original categories for - we don't want fans of those fandoms to be marginalized, if possible. Third, the Category Change workgroup is still discussing the very categories themselves, so we didn't want to move things around too much until they reported back (they're still taking suggestions, at that news post).
We do know it's strange, and we do appreciate your feedback regarding it. If you have any other thoughts, let us know!
