Thanks! It was weird because she knew he was her dad but he didn't so the relationship was a bit strange at first. Having something to call him was weird for her because it's not like she could call him Dad, and I know that many same-sex couples have different names for each of the parents (ie Papa and Daddy) so I thought D.D. (or Deedee) would be a great way to avoid confusion and allow for Luna to acknowledge the fact that Derek is her father without making it weird.
And Luna is awesome :) I think she's my favorite character in this (Jackson is a close second because I've always thought Jackson would mellow out with age and he really does change from when he was in high school. I think it's an amazing thing he did for Stiles, taking him in and then becoming one of his closest friends in the meantime) But Luna really understands that not everything is alright with her dad and Derek, and even though she's curious as to what her other father is like, she's fiercely protective of Stiles, as you can see with what happened with Erica.
