Oh, wow. These two stories are beautiful. You've captured how self-aware and self-deluded Sherlock is, and how marvelously, un-showily strong John is, and the way that strength just might mean that this relationship might not end in a train wreck. It's rare to see characterization done this well by means of sex.
I've longed to see Sherlock like this -- this chance that he could be softened without being broken.
