i really like how karen is very peripheral to the animorphs' story, but she knows enough about it that we get just a hint of how isolated cassie feels, how alone she is, with everyone else on the team gone. the world building was really fun too, i love seeing where people take ex-hosts and the culture surrounding that. it's a great way to show how the war has affected so many people at, like, the level of a person who went through it rather than the sweeping changes that fly by someone like jake or marco.

I hoped this story would be a nice glimpse of Cassie an Aftran and the war at large from a less-explored perspective, and I'm glad you feel like I succeeded, even though the fic itself is so short. I really liked writing from Karen's perspective, and I'd love to revisit her and Cassie one day!
