Comment on “Fixed” — A Star Wars tale

  1. This whole story makes me snicker, but this line in particular cracks me up: “And I mean, sex is nice, but have you ever tried meditation?”

Also, half of these things people seem to think the Jedi Order should have changed have never made sense to me, even as a more casual fan. I do understand where the "Jedi aren't allowed to love" misconception comes from, because I used to think that way, but multiple padawans for one master? Using "dark side powers"/balance is equal light and dark? How about no. Even if the Jedi Apprentice books and the whole sent-away-at-13 concept were still canon, I'd still think multiple padawans for one master was a bad idea. We're talking about an intense apprenticeship where one-on-one training is vital. Why would giving that up be considered a good thing? Even with just two padawans, you risk setting up a situation where they both really need extra help and support from their master at the same time, and/or they get jealous of each other and the time their master spends with the other.

Anyway. You already know all this, because you wrote this masterpiece of frustration with fanon. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

    1. Ah ah, on a spiritual level what is sex anyway if not connecting to another people's soul in the most intimate of ways? And what is the Force if not connecting to *the soul of the universe*?? I'd pick meditation.

Honestly, I think most of those 'positive reforms' are just changes for the sake of change. They aren't always thought-through or hold much meaning. It just comes from a mindset of "the Jedi were stagnant so change would be good" and then the author rolls with that and does whatever. It's like accusing the Council of complacency (another thing I very much disagree with) and putting a few 20-year-old Knights in charge with them. Like?? Have you *met*??? A 20-year-old??? Obviously Jedi-raised kids are way more mature, capable and insightful than irl ones, but maybe don't let people whose solution to a problem is "EXPLOSION" lead an Order of diplomats?

Thanks for the comment :) yeah, I'm very fandom-jaded at this point x) I'm tired of so many tropes and "hot takes." I've become veeery picky with the fics I read lmao
