Comment on “Fixed” — A Star Wars tale

  1. Yesssssssssssssssss. While I do enjoy JA fix-its or having bits of it added to Obi-Wan's background because Obi-Wan hurt/comfort is a big part of my what I enjoy in this fandom, I hate how it gets used to attack how the canon Jedi work.

    1. There's also bits of JA that I like - such as ruth baulding's rewriting of the whole thing, or Eirian Erisdar's Silent Song - and I'm all for Obi-Wan H/C too (tho tbh the movies and TCW already have plenty of that to go around *sniffle*), but the worldbuilding is just *yikes.*

I think the problem is that it was written when the EU still viewed the Temple as the "Jedi Academy." People hadn't yet realized just how much of a culture and a family the PT era Jedi were going to be (as opposed to Luke's rebuilt Order where Jedi and non-Jedi married and mixed, etc). Tbh I'm still baffled that Wolverton and Watson were given the green light and thought they could just assume how the Order worked when there were two more movies coming up. Like... guys? What are you doing?
