Comment on Opposition Party

  1. You had me at "There were any number of reasons why this was a terrible idea—not the least of which was that Mycroft seemed to think that making Greg angry amounted to a sort of charm." I absolutely adore a good, slow build-up, and this hit all of my "yay fic!" buttons, not to mention how wonderfully in-character everyone is (and I do so love a snarky Mycroft!).

Here are some bits that I particularly enjoyed:
"Thanks but no thanks, Mycroft," Greg said, and snapped open the umbrella. "You still owe me a favour." / "I relish it," Mycroft said, and Greg slammed the door in his smug face.

One of the fic-buttons that I mentioned earlier is that sort of love-hate relationship, and you've done it so well here!!

Greg felt suddenly like a dirty potato just pulled from the ground - you have such clever and original descriptions! I love your writing style and use of language.

The long line of Mycroft's thigh eased up into his slim torso and then further into his neck, craned back and corded with tension.

Nngh, that is hot! And oh my, I could just feel the building tension when Greg confronted Mycroft in his office later - my heart definitely beat a little faster when they were arguing!

His knees went weak, but Mycroft was the one who moaned. - really, just such lovely descriptions!!

It made the hairs on the back of Greg's neck stand on end to hear this man go completely to pieces. It was unbearably hot // Greg rubbed up against Mycroft as he ejaculated, furiously satisfying the urge to come all over Mycroft's body and clothes

    I completely agree, Greg! Guh.

"I hope it wasn't anyone I know." The expression on Sherlock's face indicated just what he thought of that prospect, and Greg almost laughed in his face.

It's a bit terrible (poor Sherlock), but I always love the dramatic irony in this situation - I was absolutely tickled by Sherlock's later discovery of Greg and Mycroft's relationship, hee!

But as much as Greg wanted to be angry with Mycroft right now, a large part of his lizard brain wanted to express this anger by holding Mycroft down against the desk and fucking the hell out of him

Mmm, yes indeed! And I also particularly liked this line - He was warm and close and soft and horribly, terribly desirable; it's not the typical "I want to fuck you" description of sexual desire, and I like the suggestion of comfort mixed in as well.

Greg blinked and Mycroft's usual expression of quiet amusement was set in place again. He wondered if some day that happiness might linger.

Oh, my heart - such a lovely detail. I have so much love for this story!!! And I see that you're working on a sequel; hooray! I shall await with eagerness. :)

    1. Holmes wreathed in smoke. By me.

Thank you for such a comprehensive, lovely comment! I always appreciate ones like this; it's nice to see what people particularly enjoy.

It's great to hear that your heart beat faster during the confrontation, and that you were amused by Sherlock's reactions, and that you appreciate my descriptions—both sexual and otherwise. Thank you so much!

I am working on a sequel, yep. Here's hoping it can live up to the original. XD
