Comment on All the Gardens I Have Ever Gazed At

  1. As much as I enjoy reading fanfiction, I can't help but be nitty picky over details.

People don't seem to understand that Oliver Bowden was given information on the game. (Revelations is slightly altered in some aspects)

Altair's children, even in the game, are called Darim and Sef.
And the entire killing off Maria and Sef due to Abba is true as well. However, Ubisoft has cut Malik clean out of Revelations.
You don't see him die, like in the book, and he isn't mentioned. I believe they cut out Malik dying due to possible outrage of fans.

But yeah, mini-rant over for those who hated the book and haven't played / finished Revelations. Most of it is true.

    1. I am fully aware of the fact that Bowden wrote The Secret Crusade with input from Ubisoft on game canon, but I don't see how that is in any way relevant. I wrote this story over a year and a half ago, before the book or Revelations were even being hinted at. Rewriting the story to comply with the canon as revealed in the book would have obviously been impossible. I did read the whole book, and found it poorly paced, clumsily written, full of plot holes and cultural and historical inaccuracies, and about as emotionally gripping as a rock. In those respects it is a literary travesty; I made no comment on the actual events of the book, except to warn readers that this story would not take them into account.

I haven't played Revelations yet, but thank you for spoiling those small parts of it for me. Perhaps the next time you decide to be pedantic about details in your comments on a story, you will choose details that actually occur in the story to comment on, and not pieces of game canon that didn't exist when the story was written. Or, hell, maybe even comment on the actual story instead of trying to prove how much more knowledgeable you are about irrelevant issues.

But thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed the story as much as you did writing your little rant.
