Comment on Call for Feedback on Category Change Proposal

I was a bit perplexed about some of the omissions in the subcats, especially under animation/sequential art, but I assume that is because you are only subcat-ing the biggest groups of fandoms? Does that mean that there will be some kind of quota type thing, like when there are a certain number of animated tv show fandoms or whatever they get a separate subcat, and until then are just filed generally under the main category? (If so, what is the number?)

I also am not interested in the most popular/recently active fandoms, it just adds more clicks to find fandoms I'm actually interested in. But I think in general this is a big improvement on the current cats and i would get more use out of it.

    1. I'm really curious about this, too. I find the "We'll figure out how new subcategories are added later" idea to be a bit dubious. If this is an overhaul of the category structure and how it's going to work going forward, that should be a part of this and users should have the chance to give input at the same time...

      Hi,

We're indeed only making subcategories for big enough groups of fandoms, but what 'big enough' exactly means has not been defined yet (we have to see what the different limits would mean for the number of subcategories, which has to be kept reasonably low for usability).

I've recorded your feedback about the popular fandom listings — we will take it into account in our discussion. Thanks!

      Best,
