    Since you already got an extensive reaction from me, let me just leave a small summary of my feelings for this fic here:
    Mererid is a total badass and the way you wrote him, all stealth, grace, order and loyalty, I fell instantly in love with his character. I really like the garrote. It suits him; it's fast and silent and there is no excessive blood or gore that needs to be washed out of pillows or the expensive rug afterward. No need to dispose of a body - he already has a scapegoat ready and false evidence planted. Such an efficient, intelligent murder spy! He deserves a raise.
    I also love the bond he shared with Emhyr here. They know each other for so long and trust each other so deeply that there are not a lot of words needed to know what the other is on about. A touch of a wrist, a nod, a smile, and they had a whole conversation. I can see situations where Emhyr is not in the position to say what is bothering him, maybe because he is in front of political figureheads or so, and just with a glance to his royal servant the issue is dealt with, may it be small or big. The way you wrote their dynamic is just superb.
    And Emhyr is still a brat. What is wrong with picking up your clothes, your Majesty? The nerve of the guy.
    This entire thing is glorious and I have no idea how to express the rush of endorphines and serotonine that are still coursing through my body. I may have danced a bit. Okay, I danced long and hard. And maybe I am still giggling giddily and happy. Thank you for making this head canon come to live. <3

      Honestly, I don't know how to respond to this without at least a bunch of crazy emoticons. I was hoping you'd like the little fic that dropped out of my head but this exceeds everything I anticipated! <3 Their dynamic is so precious and I'm happy to know someone who shares my views and headcanons. Emhyr is still the spoiled, bratty child somewhere deep inside and I actually think he drops his clothes on purpose because then Mererid will do it for him and the implicit care is reassuring to him, probably?
