  1. Glad Colin has Benedict in his life to remind him. Makes sense why Colin or anyone would naturally bury past mistakes & feelings associated with them. Remembering can be a useful tool to never repeat said mistakes. Our Colin is growing up.

    1. Yes! And I maintain one of my theories that an an excellent father is built on: Colin (at least book Colin, jury's still out on show Colin) is particularly good at that/bad about that. But even setting aside that fic lol, I think it's not because he doesn't want to learn/grow or something, but because book Colin at least is particularly emotionally intelligent (and show Colin is shown to be pretty soft-hearted), so that sort of mistake is extra uncomfortable because it goes against his sense of himself.
