Is there a workaround to search JUST the summary? I generally vastly prefer AO3's tagging method, but it makes it very difficult to easily search for stories about characters that aren't the main subject of the fandom's creative output. I am going to use HP as my example because I've recently found the SCRYER search tool. If I want to find Hermione-centric stories on SCRYER I just search the summary bar for: +Hermione -Harry. Harry can still be a main tagged character, but Hermione actually has to show up in the summary. If I want to exclude shipping fics its as easy as -Draco -Dramione -Snape -Ron. A search on AO3 for the Hermione Granger tag comes up with thousands of results the vast majority of which are about Harry. I don't know if I have clearly articulated myself, but I hope that the answer is as easy as an existing piece of code I can enter into my search.
