Ok so clues, the story was nearly set in San Diego or Texas depending on what part you are reading, but high school Maxiel are in Texas but it's summer break. The main detail I took from the series (complete with 10 parts, I took inspiration from the first) is that Max is a book lover and that Daniel is American (rip aussie daniel). Apparently, the series is inspired by a Troye Sivan album.

omg I get to introduce you to the 'leave this blue neighbourhood' series by tiredtiredsharl?! it's literally a masterwork and one of the greatest series I have ever read (binged the whole thing in two days). The first part is called 'so we can make the most out of no time?' and I adore the series. give it a shot ^^
