    what a perfect and gut-punch-y start for a fic with this premise!

    love how you can see all the methods/thought processes sephiroth uses to control himself through his POV - how he lists options before doing things etc. the bit where he talks about a single sigh like it's a failing was ooof.

    already love your gen and angeal characterisation and how sephiroth describes them in a way that shows that he understands some things perfectly ('Mother Hen face' angeal being the one to notice his episode, thinking chaotic gen may be possessed by a cat), and other things not so much (like how he can't ask gen to just turn the sound down because he has a headache and gets all passive aggressive instead).

    kunsel POV!!!! veeeery interesting.

    the interactions with the baby were adorable and very poignant - it would have such an impact, especially at this stage in his life, for sephiroth to find anyone who was 'like him'. what a wonderful way to help him explore humanity in its most fundamental stages, and maybe understand/make some peace with the childhood he was never allowed.

    but who is this bebé? and what will cloud do????

      Yes yes! Sephiroth is smart and will be able to pick up on what people associate with certain things, or at least remember previous instances and use them as references and the like to so he will be able to puzzle out stuff he's been met with more frequently, like Mother Hen Angeal, but still struggling with things like admitting a fault or imperfection like the fact he gets headaches or is in pain for the instance with Genesis cuz that would mean admitting a failure to keep himself to Hojo's and Shinra's standards, which is hella dangerous and can be deadly.

      YES! I haven't played all of Crisis Core but I love fics with Kunsel in them and idk how much screen time he'll get throughout this story with how big the cast will but when I needed a rando SOLDIER other than Zack it was between Kunsel or Roche and I think Kunsel is more likely to pick up on some stuff I had wanted picked up soooo... haha he won. Sorry Roche.

      Exactlyyyyyyyy, this is part of why I wanted to start writing this fic! Sephiroth is so desperate for family, connection, a place of belonging where he doesn't feel alienated or isolated in some way. So bam! Baby! And now he'll get to watch Claude's "normal" (totally not normal really) childhood compared to Sephiroth's utter lack of childhood and maybe fill in that empty space inside of himself by experiencing what childhood is with Claude.

      Petit bébé is very special bébé with an unrivalled wooing prowess :) A+ cutie patootie. As for Cloud... probably A LOT of cursing. It will make Cid proud.
