   Actually this is quite a common occurrence on AO3! Practically every membership drive over the last few years I've been paying attention has far and away exceeded its goal.

      Since it won the Hugo, yes. There were years before where it was more of a struggle, but I am glad that we've always pulled through somehow and that these days, there is quite a bit of financial buffer for when it's needed.
